It may be hard to believe, but a recent study shows that cancer is 100 percent a man-made disease, and that it is caused by modern-day phenomena like pollution and dietary intake.

Researchers at the University of Manchester’s KNH Centre for Biomedical Egyptology in England, reached that conclusion in 2010, after reviewing remains and literature from ancient Egypt and Greece, as well as earlier periods, a study that also included the first historical diagnosis of cancer in an Egyptian mummy.

The study, published at the time in the journal Nature Reviews Cancer, noted that researchers found only one occurrence of cancer while investigating hundreds of Egyptian mummies. In addition, they found very few references to the disease in period literature, which indicates that cancer cases were extremely rare during the period.

However, after the Industrial Revolution, cancer rates exploded, and in particular among children, which proves that the rise in cases is not exclusively tied to longer life.

“In industrialized societies, cancer is second only to cardiovascular disease as a cause of death. But in ancient times, it was extremely rare,” said Prof. Rosalie David, of the Faculty of Life Sciences. “There is nothing in the natural environment that can cause cancer. So it has to be a man-made disease, down to pollution and changes to our diet and lifestyle.

“The important thing about our study is that it gives a historical perspective to this disease,” she continued. “We can make very clear statements on the cancer rates in societies because we have a full overview. We have looked at millennia, not one hundred years, and have masses of data.”

Modern industrialization

The research includes the first-ever histological diagnosis of cancer in an Egyptian mummy, which was made by Prof. Michael Zimmerman, a visiting scholar at the KNH Center, who is based at Villanova University near Philadelphia. He managed to diagnose rectal cancer in an unidentified mummy, an “ordinary” person who lived in the Dakhleh Oasis during the Ptolemaic period (200-400 AD).

“In an ancient society lacking surgical intervention, evidence of cancer should remain in all cases. The virtual absence of malignancies in mummies must be interpreted as indicating their rarity in antiquity, indicating that cancer causing factors are limited to societies affected by modern industrialization,” Zimmerman said.

The research team examined mummified remains as well as literary documentation and evidence for ancient Egypt, but only literary evidence from ancient Greece, because there are no known human remains from this period. The team also looked at medical studies of animal and human remains from earlier periods, extending all the way back to the age of dinosaurs.

Short lifespans not a factor

Overall, evidence of cancer in early humans and animal fossils, as well as non-human primates, is extremely rare. There are only a few dozen examples in animal fossils, though these are mostly disputed. However, there has been a metastatic cancer discovery of unknown primary origin in an Edmontosaurus fossil, while a separate study lists several possible neoplasms – new and abnormal growths of tissue in some part of the body, especially as a characteristic of cancer – in fossil remains.

Some scientists and medical researchers have suggested that the rare incidence of cancer in antiquity was due in large part to short lifespans. While this statistical construct is accurate, humans in ancient Egypt did not develop other conditions that primarily affect young persons.

Another explanation for the lack of cancerous tumors in ancient times is that tumors possibly are not well-preserved. Zimmerman has performed some experimental studies indicating that mummification actually preserves the features of a malignancy and thus, tumors should actually be more well-preserved than normal tissues.

Still, though hundreds of mummies from around the world have been examined, there are still only two publications showing microscopic confirmation of cancer. Radiological exams of mummies from the Cairo Museum have also failed to show evidence of cancer.

  1. As a holistic nutritionist practicing for 43 years, I’ve witnessed many cases of people going through this process. I’ve seen some entering their death process and some completely recovering from cancer.
Finding healing by inviting love in their life as far as on a cellular level, programming them with light and allowing rejuvenation in that way.

As far as I’ve studied and observed people, cancer seems also a manmade disease in the sense that when a human being loses the appreciation and responsibility for creating his/her reality aka physical wellbeing, in this case, the spark of life in that person begins to turn onto itself in a self-destructive way.

I’ve got a brother in law, who’s extremely vulnerable due to an upbringing by an overpowering mother. He finds himself overwhelmed easily by energy of others. I’ve known him since childhood, seeing him creating a mental shield, relating to others in a way that he’s always the outsider, offering one liners as definitions. He’s extremely evasive in my company, sensing my Kali energy as a warrior for truth. Even when I don’t open my mouth, that stance of mine is obvious for those who are like him.

He chooses the role of the observer, defining what the issue at hand is, leaving out his sharing of how it effects him. Hence his choice to be a psychologist in businesses as a career. He’s always extremely uncomfortable in groups and finds an escape in the kitchen working on food that needs a lot of time to prepare. A bourgondic dinner-host he is for sure, with my sister joining him for long hours at the table.
Guess what? He developed cancer in the part of his digestive system where the food goes down from his mouth to his stomach. Isn’t it clear that he’s got an issue with “digesting” what’s on his “plate”?
It’s a sad and trying time for my sister and him, to live through, for my sister has lost a breast due to cancer. She went through the chemo therapy process, in horror for its devastating side effects.
Now she’s forced to relive that horror and see her spouse going through the process himself, maybe.
I’m praying for them and support them from a distance, for I left Holland and now live in the UK.

My view on the process of cancer is as follows: when I live through my days as if life happens to me, for better or for worse, I’m holding a passive role and when I blame life for my suffering I’m holding the role of a victim. Many people live without awareness about their attitude in life and what they put into their mouth or how they treat their health in general. There’s often a lack of respect and ignorance of self-love, due to the pace of modern life and the pressure of “keeping up appearances” (in Britain it’s a stance that is held very high).

The deeply ingrained belief that we’re ruled by an authority, be it God, a king, a president, or what’s shown to us on a screen, causes human beings to lose sovereignty and ignore the role of their inner conductor, the observer, or higher self. Or whatever name you choose for it. Guilt and the tendency to sweep unpleasant feelings under the carpet, are the best conditions to expose oneself to the creation of forms of sublimation. I tend to call it “emotional cover up”.

I believe that one of the building blocks of modern society is a deliberate construction of such a way of life, in order to control the lives and wellbeing of human beings. It’s the promise of Heaven in neon light on the boulevard of broken dreams. We all know what the forces are behind that facade. We need to be aware not to buy into it and observe our conduct when lured inside.

Using the ability to choose anew, each moment of our life. That choice has never shown its face clearer than on this crossroad in time anno 2016. I believe that this choice determines the capacity to heal from cancer or succumb to the degeneration of one’s physical health. In sharing this view of mine, there’s no judgment of right or wrong, regarding the choice each of us makes. For there’s freedom of choice, always. In a humorous way, no one can be more convinced of this than I am, although it seems that I’m giving orders. I hope you can see through that style of mine, it’s my facade. I am human and I’ve got my style of protecting a vulnerability for having a warm big heart, while moving through a huge learning curve.

Thank you for sharing this with you, I’ve never ignored the huge work that is accomplished here and the efforts that are made to create a new world, a new Earth, a new humanity. I’m a great friend of lady Gaia, you see, preferring to be in the world of form, eye to eye with other living beings, creating community in a practical way. To end with a lighthearted note, to me there’s nothing wrong with a bit of work in paradise, chopping wood and sharing a pint and a good story afterwards.
