Forgive everyone and everything, as Kathleen says.

I’m not asking us to realize that statement. That might be too much for us to do all at once.

Let’s begin with intellectual knowledge and later move to experiential knowledge.

Why forgive everyone and everything?

Well, surely we see by our recent history that maintaining resentments and getting even, so to speak, have only led to catastrophe.

Gandhi once said, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Were we not well on the road to making the whole world blind?

The Illuminati had built deep underground military bunkers (DUMBs) where the cabal planned to sit out the nuclear winter following World War III. This war would be over in minutes.

They wanted 6.5 billion people to be killed and the remaining 500 million to serve as slaves.

This scenario was foiled by white hats in the military, the intelligence agencies, government, etc.

But without them we would have endured World War III.

How far do we have to go to stop the whole tragic cycle of resist, resent, revenge? How many people must die and how many planets expire before we let it all go and commit to leading peaceful lives?

We won’t get there unless and until we forgive everyone and everything.

That’s the intellectual case for it.

  1. I like that view of Edward: “Forgiving Everyone and Everything is like declaring your Freedom!”
    Here’s my favorite poem by a Persian poet and lover:

    Kahlil Gibran on Love

    “When love beckons to you, follow him,
    Though his ways are hard and steep.
    And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
    Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
    And when he speaks to you believe in him,
    Though his voice may shatter your dreams
    as the north wind lays waste the garden.

    For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.
    Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
    Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
    So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

    Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
    He threshes you to make you naked.
    He sifts you to free you from your husks.
    He grinds you to whiteness.
    He kneads you until you are pliant;
    And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God’s sacred feast.

    All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life’s heart.

    But if in your fear you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure,
    Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshing-floor,
    Into the season-less world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep,
    but not all of your tears.
    Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
    Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
    For love is sufficient unto love.

    When you love you should not say, “God is in my heart,” but rather, “I am in the heart of God.”
    And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

    Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
    But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
    To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
    To know the pain of too much tenderness.
    To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
    And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
    To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
    To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
    To return home at eventide with gratitude;
    And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

    Kahlil Gibran

  2. It’s a noble cause to end animosity and suffering, by whatever way works for us. If it works to say “I forgive …….. so and so, or this or this….” and let it go completely, freeing up space with self-love, well, that’s fine. In my life, I’ve found that understanding and looking deeply in the source or space of my inner suffering and observing the tendency to nag, blame and wrong an Other, asking myself “What’s present in me that isn’t whole, what is in need of healing, in need to be held against the light of truth, or warmed by the affinity for myself in my heart? is the key to find that I’m projecting all sorts of things on the outside world and that I am myself the cause of that suffering and no external source.

    Hence, the concept of forgiving applies to oneself, which, to me, is equal to embracing one’s emotions and acknowledging the deeper lying need and desire that is genuine and pure. Without the need of an Other, in good times and bad times. Although an Other can be a loving witness to your process of healing yourself. The core of our heart’s desire is made of gold, but sometimes a lot of conditions are attached to it, due to a protective shield made of disappointment, doubt and a lack of trust. In oneself. “I’m so terribly hurt once upon a time, that I’ve got to close my heart. I won’t have it that this will happen again” and so, love won’t enter that closed heart, until the tears are cried about the hurting, once upon a time.

    From the book “The prophet” by Khalil Gibran

    “Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses
    your understanding.

    Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its
    heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

    And could you keep your heart in wonder at the
    daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem
    less wondrous than your joy;

    And you would accept the seasons of your heart,
    even as you have always accepted the seasons that
    pass over your fields.

    And you would watch with serenity through the
    winters of your grief.

    Much of your pain is self-chosen.

    It is the bitter potion by which the physician within
    you heals your sick self.

    Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy
    in silence and tranquillity:

    For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by
    the tender hand of the Unseen,

    And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has
    been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has
    moistened with His own sacred tears”.

    Khalil Gibran

  3. You can say “I forgive, I forgive, I forgive” but if the energy behind those statements is not removed, the anger remains. There is an easy way to remove the energy behind any resentment: Write it down, and state “I forgive _______ and I forgive myself for allowing it to happen” as you burn the paper it was written on. The energy goes up in smoke. Our intentions are POWERFUL!

  4. Absolutely right advice, and when you force yourself over and over to Forgive Everyone and Everything it’s not that difficult to do. It actually becomes gratifying and releasing at the same moment. It’s like declaring your Freedom! Forgiving Everyone and Everything is like declaring your Freedom!
