Singer and PHA Ambassador Nickita Starck has released a powerful music video to
spread awareness of the People’s Health Alliance and its Power of the Pound emergency appeal.

The talented singer and founder of When Push Comes to Shove was moved to release her
recording of Muddy Waters to raise funds for PHA and to encourage people across the UK
to take charge of their own health.

The professional singer songwriter has given her full backing to PHA and its Power of the Pound appeal and says: ‘I want to use my skills as a performer to spread some awareness of this beautiful, heartfelt organisation.’

Since PHA was launched in April to provide alternative healthcare options in UK communities as NHS services deteriorate, over 80 health hubs are in the making, and 5 have already opened their doors to the public. With an average of 100 people per
hub and a complete mix of skills, PHA are encouraging everyone to find their nearest one and get involved.

Two weeks ago it launched its Power of the Pound appeal to raise funds for advanced emergency training and equipment after West Midlands Ambulance Service announced that it would no longer be answering 999 calls from August. Its goal is to appeal to one million people to donate at least £1 per month to help prevent needless deaths as emergency services collapse.

Nickita, who also works as a doula, says:

‘As an experienced birth practitioner I have witnessed unspeakable medical violence and coercion. ‘People deserve the right to informed consent and, in order to get this, you need information. ‘I am a huge advocate for PHA as it is giving the power back to the people which is a movement I am 100 per cent behind. The more people have autonomy over their health, the better.’
