Embrace Your Inner Reptile

During the pandemic lockdown years I always believed that the end of 2024 would be a time of peak “collective insanity”. I can’t really tell you why I felt that was the case. I’ll just say from what I had read and seen the timing resonated with me.
We have reached the end of 2024 and we’re now moving into 2025. In numerology the year 2025 is a 9. Nine symbolizes the end of a cycle. It seems clear the struggle between light and dark, and between a world of peace, love and harmony and that of tyranny, control and domination is reaching a crescendo.
You may have already realized the numerology of 2026 is a 1. That represents new beginnings. I hadn’t really thought about this numerology aspect until now.
Well, here we are at the end of 2024 and the start of 2025. There does indeed seem to be something in this line of thought. We are seeing more manipulative and worrisome events and news headlines than ever. Less and less of it seems to provide a true picture of what is really going on. As I see it these levels of insanity and mistrust will be the trigger for their own demise.
The first new Moon of 2025 will be on the 29th of January. This will mark the start of the Chinese New Year of the Wood Snake. In my limited understanding of Chinese Astrology there are five elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth) and twelve Zodiac signs that cycle through sixty combinations before repeating. The Snake is the sixth sign which represents intuition and wisdom. Snakes are known for their intelligence, elegance and a mysterious nature. They also have the miraculous ability to shed their skin to evolve and grow.
According to the Far East philosophy the Wood element brings with it the qualities of flexibility, creativity and growth. Imagine a small sapling breaking out of the soil, growing rapidly reaching for the light that will eventually be a strong and resilient tree.
So, let’s put together these thoughts to consider what might 2025 look like. Despite all the rampant madness, criminal corruption and diabolical behavior that’s surfacing for all to see I truly believe we are hitting the peak. It seems to me 2025 will be the year that this comes to an end. I have no doubt this will be uncomfortable and unpredictable. However, we need to think like the snake and use its best qualities. Use our intelligence and wisdom to navigate around the obstacles that get in our way throughout the year ahead. We need to be fluid in the face of change, pause and weigh situations before striking or making our next move. Perhaps we shed our old skins to evolve and grow.
It seems amazing to me that these ancient esoteric concepts conjure up imagery that strongly resembles the current time in my own reality. There really is a lot to be positive about in the coming months as the status quo gives way to a new beginning. It’s up to us to flow around the obstacles with elegance and wisdom just like the snake.
One last thought, if you believe we are eternal beings of light here at this time for the experience then embrace it. Light is energy. Energy transforms and flows. Perhaps I will take up yoga, dance or some other activity to embody fluid movement this year.
