Israel continues to carry out airstrikes and expand its occupation of the besieged strip, while maintaining restrictions on aid

The Gaza Health Ministry said in its daily statistical report on 11 August that over 5,400 Palestinians have been killed and wounded in the besieged strip since the US launched its so-called “peace plan” and ceasefire process in October 2025.

The ministry said on Tuesday that 1,259 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks on Gaza since US President Donald Trump launched his plan last year.

The number of wounded stands at 4,146, it added.

Israel has not stopped attacks and ceasefire violations since the 2025 US plan was launched. It has also illegally occupied 70 percent of the strip.

Hebrew media reported this week that Tel Aviv informed Washington that it will not stop carrying out strikes on Gaza.

According to the 10 August Channel 13 report, Israel told the White House it was prepared for a deal to halt “targeted assassinations” in the devastated enclave.

However, this would not apply to anybody who “took part” in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on 7 October 2023.

In early July, Hamas announced the dissolution of the resistance-led governing body in Gaza, which has overseen the strip’s administration for close to two decades.

This was carried out in line with the provisions of the US-sponsored agreement.

Hamas has since said it was ready to hand over authority to a US-endorsed technocratic committee – known as the National Committee for Administration of Gaza (NCAG) – as part of the agreement. Yet Tel Aviv has blocked the NCAG from entering Gaza to begin its duties.

After the October 2025 deal took effect, Israel established what it calls its “Yellow Line” in Gaza.

The Yellow Line was meant to act as an initial perimeter to which occupation troops would withdraw, as stipulated in the ceasefire deal.

Further Israeli withdrawals were supposed to take place in parallel with a gradual disarmament – or decommissioning – of the resistance’s arms. But Israeli forces refused withdrawal from the start and continued to carry out genocide.

They also continued expanding the occupation and pushing beyond the Yellow Line, erecting permanent outposts around it following the launch of Washington’s October 2025 peace plan and so-called truce.

New satellite images indicate that Israel is building a massive barrier in order, in effect, to partition the besieged enclave.

The amount of aid entering Gaza also remains critically low.
