Move over, Asbury! Hammond, Louisiana’s revival that began last October shows no signs of slowing.

Hammond, Louisiana, some 750 miles south of Wilmore, Kentucky (where the Asbury Revival broke out in February), is the site of a revival that is well into its eighth month and continues to bless and save hundreds.

Since the revival began on October 16, 2022 at the Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, thousands have come — and continue to come — to hear evangelist David Harrison of the Voice of Hope Ministries.

The first night just 125 people showed up, with 34 making commitments to Christ. That was just the beginning. Believers and seekers descended on the town of 20,000, far exceeding the church’s capacity. Harrison brought in a tent capable of seating up to 2,500 people to meet the demand.

At last count, an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 souls have attended the Hammond revival.

Harrison said:

The awakening in Louisiana has truly been life-changing. When God sent me there on October 17, I never would have dreamed we would still be there! It has been the most supernatural event I’ve ever seen.

Other evangelists, such as Nick Hall, the founder of Pulse Ministries, and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, senior pastor at New Season Church in Sacramento, California, who also heads the National Christian Leadership Conference, are claiming that the revival that began in October and continues today is no coincidence. Said Hall: “God is moving. It’s not over. It’s just starting!”

He added:

I’m just seeing this break out everywhere. You can’t end revival, revival isn’t owned by anyone, and it didn’t start by anyone. It’s a move of God.

Rodriguez agrees:

It’s only gaining momentum.

Since Asbury, the hunger has grown even more in this area [Sacramento] to see revival.

We’ve never seen anything like it.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Rodriguez said, “If you were a skeptic, you would label this as a coincidence. But if you’re a person of faith, you see this as divine providence. It can’t be a coincidence. God is in charge. God is up to something. And that’s the great news.”

There are dozens of testimonies at the website of The South Louisiana Awakening.

The ongoing revival is beginning to show up in various polls, too. In a study by Springtide Research Institute in April, an astonishing one-third of 18-to-25-year-olds now believe in a higher power, up from just 25 percent two years ago, before the revival began.

The impact of the revival is also showing up in the work done by Christian pollster George Barna, director of research at the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University. The number of those now holding what he calls a “biblical worldview” has shown “statistically significant” improvement over the last couple of years.

A second study by Barna confirmed the first. Among those who believe there are moral absolutes, there has been a 14-percentage-point improvement over the last three years. And among those who believe that good works cannot gain entry into Heaven, there was a gain of 10 points.

Want more proof? The latest report from the Christian streaming service PureFlix has more than doubled its membership in the last two years, while at the same time competitors Netflix and Disney+ have lost members.

James Lasher of Charisma magazine noted:

As the revival shows no signs of waning, its impact continues to ripple through the hearts and souls of thousands. It stands as a testament to the transformative power of faith, bringing together individuals from all walks of life to experience the boundless grace and love of God.
