Neurologist Reacts to Disturbed’s ‘Sound of Silence’
We all know how powerful music can be to move us, to lift us up, and give us hope.
Neurologist Anna is speaking in this video and shows us how our body reacts to certain types of music and how it it has the power to connects us. That’s something society really needs at this time of great division.
This song brought out feelings of compassion and a desire to leave behind the technological world and reconnect with each other, using words and music. The song itself is quite evocative with the delivery by David Draiman of Disturbed.
Here is Anna’s Views on the song but I’ll put the link for David’s full version of the Simon and Garfunkel original song below.
In closing, if you want to maintain better health and stay out of fear, be mindful of what you watch and listen to, and find those “movies” that resonate and lift you, rather than the ones being shared my mainstream media. Good music is a great start to healing for those struggling at this time.
Simon and Garfunkel wrote the song and performed it in 1964 (and I still have that album!). It touched me then but the new version is a real clarion call to wake us up.
