In 1997, a book titled “2025: Scenarios of U.S. and Global Society Reshaped by Science and Technology” was published by the Hudson Institute — a Washington D.C.–based think tank working alongside government agencies, military planners, and major corporations. The project was led by futurist James Canton, bringing together experts in technology, national security, and economic forecasting. What makes this book so intriguing… is how many of its predictions seem to match the world we’re living in today. From major global events to technological shifts, some estimates suggest that a large portion of what was described nearly 30 years ago has already happened. But what’s even more unsettling… is what hasn’t happened yet. The book outlines a series of future scenarios — some of them extreme, even disturbing — involving global crises, systemic instability, and major changes to how society operates. And if the track record so far is anything to go by… the remaining predictions may be closer than we think.
