In this segment Jimmy reveals that Ford has filed a series of patents for vehicle surveillance technology, including biometric scanning (face, iris, fingerprint) that runs drivers’ data through criminal databases in real time, acoustic lip-reading that uses inaudible sound waves, and systems that can prevent a truck from shifting into drive if sensors detect “panic” or “emotion” in the driver’s eyes. He and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger note that the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 mandates kill switches in new vehicles, and that 57 House Republicans joined Democrats to fund the provision, allowing cars to disable themselves if the vehicle “thinks you’re not doing a good job driving.” Representative Thomas Massie offered an amendment to defund the kill switch provision, but the vote failed, and Jimmy warns that the car dashboard will become “your judge, your jury, and your executioner.” The segment concludes that this technology puts the government in your car, violates the Fourth Amendment, and that “every government overreach is always sold as safety for the peasants.”
