Officially, all of this belongs to the history of polar exploration. But the video poses a direct question: why have these accounts been gradually erased from modern maps? And why is Antarctica today protected by an international treaty that prohibits all exploitation and strongly limits access?
The Antarctic Treaty has indeed existed since 1959. It prohibits military activities and limits resource exploitation. For some, it is simply an environmental protection measure. For others, it is a sign that something much bigger is hidden behind this ice barrier.
