Pandemics and Population Control: Who Calls the Shots?
By Rev. Kat Carroll
About a 7 minute read
I don’t generally share articles that don’t leave readers feeling spiritually uplifted or with a sense of warmth. This one is different. It explores the darker legacy of societal experiments throughout history—some deliberate, some with unintended consequences. I’ve tried to keep the tone measured, with links for deeper reading for those willing to venture further down the rabbit hole.
Let’s dive in.
Controlling Populations
Population control is not a modern invention.
In ancient Rome, growth was fueled by imperial expansion, agricultural changes, and mass migration. Its decline came through war, disease, food shortages, and political shifts.
Key growth factors included:
Migration and diversity: As the empire expanded, immigrants from the Eastern Mediterranean, Near East, and North Africa created a cosmopolitan society.
Agricultural shifts: Large estates (latifundia) displaced small farmers, driving them to cities and fueling urban population booms.
Economic and civic expansion: From the 2nd century BCE to the 3rd century CE, the population roughly quadrupled, with annual growth around 0.1%. Citizenship extensions after the Social War (91–88 BCE) significantly increased registered citizens.
Decline factors were equally impactful:
The Antonine Plague (160s CE): This devastating epidemic sharply reduced Rome’s population, which had hovered around 1 million.
Loss of capital status: The move to Constantinople in the 4th century diminished Rome’s political importance.
Invasions and war: The sack of Rome by the Visigoths in 410 CE, Vandal attacks, and the Gothic War (535–553 CE) caused massive losses.
Food supply disruptions: Losing North Africa to the Vandals cut off grain shipments, forcing residents to flee or starve.
Urban dynamics: Poor sanitation and high infant mortality made cities “population sinks,” reliant on constant immigration. When inflows stopped, numbers collapsed.
Today, similar dynamics appear in geopolitical tensions—such as conflicts involving Iran and control of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil. While official narratives focus on nuclear concerns, the stakes around “black gold” remain high until alternative technologies emerge.
Energy security affects everything from commerce to daily life. Here is an interesting list of ten countries with the most natural resources… and often facing conflict:
- Russia
- United States
- Saudi Arabia
- Canada
- Iran
- China
- Brazil
- Australia
- Iraq
- Venezuela
If you’ve been following the headlines, you may have noticed this, but perhaps not made the connection of resources.
A History of Human Experimentation
Recent events prompted me to examine whether population control extends beyond pregnancy prevention, outbreaks, or war. Over the past century, numerous experiments were conducted on populations—often without consent or full awareness, sometimes for decades—leaving victims with little recourse.
Not all experiments were harmful. James Lind’s 1747 controlled trial on HMS Salisbury, which demonstrated citrus fruits cured scurvy, established the modern clinical trial method and saved countless lives at sea. Yet, many crossed ethical lines.
Crimes against humanity include large-scale attacks on civilians, while unethical human experimentation violates core medical ethics: informed consent, sound science, and avoidance of pseudoscience, racial bias, or torture disguised as research.
In these situations, it would seem there is little concern for life.
Atrocities During World War II
Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan conducted some of the most brutal experiments. Unit 731 in Japan and figures like Josef Mengele in Germany subjected prisoners and civilians to horrific procedures.

An estimated 15,754 documented victims suffered in Japanese programs alone (with the true number likely higher); roughly a quarter were killed, and survivors endured severe, permanent harm.
These revelations led to the Nuremberg Code after the war, establishing principles for ethical human research. Other governments have also targeted marginalized groups.
Could some individuals and agencies face Nuremberg type trials related to experiments conducted during, the Covid pandemic?
Additional examples include U.S. government radiation experiments on unwitting citizens in the mid-20th century and chemical/biological tests on military personnel and civilians.
Others include, but are not limited to:
Operation Sea-Spray – Bacterial warfare testing on citizens of San Francisco in the 50’s.
Project Artichoke– Launched by the CIA in 1950, and its successor, Project ARTICHOKE, established in August 1951, were covert programs designed to develop MK Ultra mind control and special interrogation techniques to extract information from resistant subjects and control human behavior.

That should really bug you!
A recent report went viral in a social media campaign originating in March 2026 from a user identifying as “holistic doctor” Sarah Outlaw. She alleged that farmers were finding boxes of ticks, but Snopes found no evidence to support this, noting that hundreds of Missouri officials confirmed receiving no such reports.
A simple search yields thousands of documented references—raising questions about how often such actions have occurred, and how much is denied, and what remains unknown.
Have humans been used a guinea pigs for testing, then thoughtlessly discarded to control the population, or could there have been other agendas for some of the experiments?
Cold War Mind Control Programs
During the Cold War, interest turned to controlling the mind and consciousness itself—without relying solely on technology. The CIA’s Project MKUltra (1953–1973), authorized by Director Allen Dulles, sought mind-control techniques for interrogation and even the creation of a “Manchurian Candidate.” It involved LSD, hypnosis, electroshock, and trauma-based methods on thousands of subjects, often without informed consent.
Related U.S. Army programs at Edgewood Arsenal tested hallucinogens and nerve agents on soldiers. The Army’s Stargate Project and Grill Flame explored “remote viewing” for intelligence gathering—training individuals to access information through altered states. Some of this could include the creation of Manchurian Candidates, assassins who would execute then forget the task, or for developing special skills for espionage, such as with remote viewing.
After the failed Bay of Pigs invasion, President Kennedy reportedly expressed deep frustration with the CIA’s independence, vowing to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces.”

Vaccines, Eugenics, and Spiritual Concerns
In 1917, amid World War I and rising materialism, Rudolf Steiner delivered lectures titled The Fall of the Spirits of Darkness. He warned:
“In the future, we will eliminate the soul with medicine. Under the pretext of a ‘healthy point of view’, there will be a vaccine by which the human body will be treated as soon as possible directly at birth, so that the human being cannot develop the thought of the existence of soul and Spirit… Materialistic doctors will be entrusted with the task of removing the soul of humanity… With such a vaccine, you can easily make the etheric body loose in the physical body… man would become an automaton… the vaccine becomes a kind of Ahrimanic force; man can no longer get rid of a given materialistic feeling.”
(Ahrimanic forces, in Steiner’s anthroposophy, represent cold materialism, intellectual rigidity, and denial of spiritual reality.)
This perspective resonates with concerns about eugenics—the deliberate shaping of populations through medical or policy means. Whether taken literally or symbolically, his warning reflects a deeper concern—one that continues to surface in modern discussions around medicine, authority, and the nature of human consciousness.
Are Some of the Vaccinated Tagged?
After vaccinations started in 2020, some people reported strange side effects, such as metallic objects sticking to the injection site, or walking past devices with blue tooth and having them turn on. This is debated but there are articles expressing concerns. Links to multiple related articles can be found here: “Vaccinated” Emitting Bluetooth Codes
Pandemics and Vulnerable Populations
During the COVID-19 pandemic, nursing homes faced scrutiny over the overuse of psychotropic drugs, especially antipsychotics, as “chemical restraints” for dementia patients. These carry FDA black-box warnings for nearly doubling mortality risk in the elderly.
Some researchers and observers noted increased use of Midazolam (a sedative with respiratory risks) in care settings, alongside restricted family visits. While official explanations tied this to pandemic protocols, critics pointed to patterns of excess deaths among the vulnerable—raising uncomfortable questions about end-of-life care, resource pressures, and decision-making during crisis conditions.
Here’s the key thing most people miss:
Midazolam is not a single-company product. It’s a generic drug, made by many manufacturers worldwide. Tracking any kind of financial gains would be difficult.
Companies involved include:
- Pfizer
- Teva Pharmaceutical Industries
- Hikma Pharmaceuticals
- various regional generic producers
Covid led to a short-term spike in demand, especially in hospitals. It increased demand for:
- sedation in ICUs (ventilated patients)
- anxiety management
- emergency care
Even when profit isn’t the primary driver, systems under pressure can still make decisions that feel impersonal, opaque, and difficult to question—especially in environments like care homes. In a time of crisis, vulnerable populations may have received care that was not always transparent, well-communicated, or consistently justified—and that deserves scrutiny.
Some practices remain highly debated topics with conflicting interpretations, there are medical reports about the care, or marginalization endured during Covid. ‘An invisible human rights crisis’: The marginalization of older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic – An advocacy review (From PubMed).
Birth Rates
Also observed during the pandemic were declining live births and rising fertility challenges globally. In the U.S., the general fertility rate has fallen steadily since 2007, dropping about 23% to a record low of 53.1 births per 1,000 women in 2025. Worldwide, the total fertility rate has halved since the 1950s (from ~4.8 to around 2.2–2.4 today), driven by economic shifts, delayed marriage, and women’s workforce participation.

While correlation is not causation, the timing alongside pandemics and vaccination campaigns invites reflection. Historical records show factions in government and private sectors have advocated population stabilization for resource, environmental, or security reasons (e.g., the 1958 Draper Committee viewed rapid growth in developing nations as a U.S. security concern).
Here are statements from an article December of 2020: Digging Out of the Hole: A Blueprint for a Responsible Post-COVID-19 Budget
“The federal government has added $3 trillion to the national debt in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This comes on the heels of legislators choosing to overspend during the years of strong economic growth prior to 2020. Looking ahead, mounting unfunded liabilities for programs such as Social Security and Medicare threaten to push the national debt to unprecedented levels even after the economy recovers. To maintain a strong national defense and a pro-growth tax code, officials must act quickly to rein in unsustainable programs and put the federal government on a path toward balance.”

Others, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, have supported improved healthcare and reproductive services—explicitly noting that lower child mortality can lead to smaller family sizes voluntarily.
However, reports and legal challenges have emerged in some regions regarding vaccine-related injuries, leading to ongoing court proceedings and public debate.

The “Official” U.S. policy rejects government-directed population control, emphasizing individual choice. However, what we are told, and reality—are often quite different.
Vaccination Concerns Amid Side Effects
Side effects from the vaccinations during covid (all experimental and therefore, should never have been mandated) began escalating vaccine hesitancy. Bribes and incentives were offered.
But when videos of nurses who just took the vaccine were seen fainting on stage while talking about it shocked many. There were numerous “vaccidents” where people lost consciousness while driving, and healthy young athletes who had taken the vaccination were dropping from myocarditis, as well as children.
Some asked if myocarditis and death after Covid vaccines were a risk greater than public health officials claimed.
If history shows us what has been done, then the present invites us to observe what is unfolding.
What Does This Mean Today?

The question is not only what we are being told—but what we are willing to question.
As collective consciousness expands in the 21st century, more people are questioning institutions—governments, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and finance.
We have the land to support the population, yet the technologies to produce clean water, provide low-cost or free energy, and restore the planet remain largely locked behind patents—perhaps not for much longer.
The Great Awakening is here. We and the planet have been electrically charged by many coronal mass ejections. Many people are reporting emerging intuitive or psychic abilities, using them not for espionage, but for healing, locating missing persons (including children), and solving real-world problems. There has also been a rise in channeled messages across social media. Some describe contact with extraterrestrial, interdimensional, or angelic beings offering guidance. With discussions around the disclosure of non-human intelligence gaining momentum, open dialogue on these topics is essential at this time.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. For the most part, this is behind us. I hope you were able to take the 5,000-foot view and remain steady. Learning from history’s darker chapters doesn’t contradict spiritual ascent—it supports wiser progress. Discernment helps us avoid repeating the mistakes of the past. By raising our awareness and integrating what we’ve learned, we can move forward with greater clarity, compassion, and sovereignty.
