In Honor and Memory of Roger Guttridge

Today, Prepare for Change is saddened to say farewell to a fellow volunteer, outstanding journalist, Light Warrior, and good friend.

Roger Guttridge was brought up in the Sturminster Newton area and went to Blandford Grammar School before beginning a 33-year career which had embraced a wide range of media work including newspapers and magazines, book writing and publishing, PR and marketing, radio, and television. He was a chief reporter and deputy news editor of the Bournemouth Daily Echo, and the author of a dozen published books and the editor of several others. Two of these are about smuggling – ‘Dorset Smugglers’, first published in 1983, and ‘Smugglers’ Trails’, published in 1997. He was the editorial director of the Dorset-based publishing company Red Post Books.

Over the past few years, Roger had been helping spread vital information during the pandemic and aftereffects. He did this by working closely with the People’s Health Alliance in the UK and connecting people to share information in our Ascension Connection calls. He was a strong supporter of Holding The Line: Journalists Against Censorship. We were so grateful for his ability and willingness to host calls with fabulous guest speakers he had found. Roger was well connected and well respected in his field.

Roger was a kind man with a very sly sense of humor.  It was a joy working with him.  All those who knew him personally, through his work, or through the Prepare for Change calls know that we have lost a great friend and educator. We also know that he will be watching over us from the other side.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Roger’s wife and his family, as we wish them rapid healing from grief. We’ll miss you Roger, and thank you for your service to help mankind.

Rest in peace.  But knowing you, you’ll still helping from the other side.

  1. What happened? Did he die? If so, how? What was his cause of death? I've just done searches online and can find no news that he has passed….

    • Roger passed away on Tuesday after losing his battle with Leukemia. Most people would not have known he was sick because he never complained.  His wife said he worked right up to the end.
He even attended one of our Weekend Awakening zoom calls just days before.
