Humanity Across the Nations – We’re More Alike Than Not

Observations of Rev. Kat Carroll – July 2, 2026
About a 5 minute read

For years, the news has made us feel divided.

We argued over religion, race, political ideology, gender, and even sports. We found ourselves divided by politics, by social issues, and yes—even over the question of whether we are alone in the universe.

During this crazy period in time, we watched groups instigate hate crimes, start riots, and even take over or destroy sections of cities. Families stopped speaking to one another. Friendships were tested. It often seemed as though the entire world had forgotten how to simply get along.

Some of that was orchestrated, and those who didn’t understand they were being emotionally manipulated fell for it. Some were paid to instigate trouble. That small number of people may have convinced others that we can’t get along.

But is the world truly that divided?

I recently watched a music video titled Best Sleepover Ever!, made from clips of the World Cup celebrations taking place around the globe. You can’t help but smile while watching it. I guarantee you’ll be tapping a toe or nodding your head in time with this wonderful video.

Instead of anger and division, we see strangers becoming friends. We see people from different nations hugging, dancing, singing, and celebrating together. We see fans wearing different jerseys, speaking different languages, and waving different flags—yet somehow getting along just fine.

The Scottish nearly drank Boston dry of beer during their celebrations. There was laughter. There was music. There was joy.

And perhaps most importantly, there was a sense of community.

For a brief moment, it didn’t seem to matter where you came from, what language you spoke, what flag you waved, or even which team you supported… Everyone got along.

I found myself captivated by the diversity—the people, the colors, the food, the flags. It was beautiful.

Perhaps we’ve forgotten something important.

We are all the same under the skin.
And perhaps even more than that, we are spiritual beings having a very human experience—together!

Interestingly, as I write this, it is also World UFO Day—a day set aside to contemplate one of humanity’s biggest questions:

Are we alone?

Perhaps that’s the irony.

If we were ever to discover that we are part of a much larger cosmic family, would our differences suddenly seem so important?  Would we finally remember that we are all passengers aboard the same small, blue dot in space?

It has been a rough road for quite some time. Yet while watching these celebrations unfold from every corner of the globe, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something has finally shifted. You can feel it, even if you can’t quite find the words to describe it.

More smiles.
More kindness.
More people willing to celebrate together rather than fight one another.
More reminders that, despite our differences, we still long for connection.

So I have to ask:

Are we experiencing “The Event”?

Has enough light finally landed on this planet that the sleeping masses are beginning to take notice?

Perhaps awakening doesn’t happen all at once.

Perhaps it happens in millions of small shared moments of joy and compassion:

A stranger sharing a drink.
A crowd singing together.
A child waving a flag.
People choosing joy over fear.
People remembering that we are far more alike than we are different.

Maybe the greatest shift in consciousness isn’t something that arrives from the sky.

Maybe it happens when humanity remembers that we are one big family sharing this beautiful world together.

And if that’s true, then perhaps the real event has already begun.
In a few more day, as we celebrate the 250th year of anniversary of our Nation, perhaps the celebrations will push us into a higher level –

One were we share the cosmos with galactic family.

Rev. Kat Carroll
I've been interested in all things related to metaphysics, parapsychology, spirituality and anything related to space since childhood. I'm the kid who used to let the Jehova Witness and Mormans into the house so I could ask a million questions. I've always wanted to be of service and ended up working as an EMT and later in law enforcement. A family job transfer lead me to Washington State for 5 years where I went back to studying spiritual phenomenon and meeting some fascinating people. I've had several initiations, was taught energy healing and became certified in Reiki III over the final 3 years. I had a larger awakening and understanding of how it Reiki worked, remote sensing and more after returning to CA in 2001. I love researching and now writing and being a spokesperson for benevolent contact with NHIB through the practice of meditation. I experienced a spontaneous healing and not long after the "quickening" of 12/21/2012, began having more paranormal experiences, including seeing the UFOs, and orbs that fly over at night. I'm also a volunteer /Admin for ETLetsTalk and love teaching others how to make that connection that I know will one day lead us out of the darkness and into a brighter future.
