Divinity

Maybe it is time we take another look at what we mean by Divinity.
For many of us, the word carries religious or philosophical associations. But what if divinity is also something deeply personal—an innate aspect of ourselves that can be experienced rather than merely defined?
Gregg Braden offers an intriguing way of looking at it: divinity is our ability to transcend the perceived limitations of the past. It is that part of us beyond the thinking and subconscious mind—the source of intuition, creativity, imagination, love, forgiveness and healing. From that perspective, awakening our divinity isn’t about becoming something other than human. It may be about discovering more of what being human actually means.
Many who practice meditation have experienced moments of profound inner knowing, connection or expanded awareness. Sometimes these experiences bring insights about our lives and our past. At other times, there may be a powerful sense that we are connected to something—or someone—beyond ourselves.
Perhaps those are what we might call Divine Moments.
As the world around us changes, many people also sense changes occurring within human consciousness. Are we becoming more aware of our connection to one another? Could individual awakening contribute to a greater collective awakening? And might some of the extraordinary changes occurring around our planet and Sun somehow play a role in how we perceive ourselves and the reality around us?
For me, genuine divinity involves moments of becoming One with ourselves and One with the All That Is—when the apparent separation between ourselves and Source seems to disappear.
Perhaps, then, divinity isn’t something we need to attain at all.
Perhaps it is something we are learning to remember.
