What is Reality, Consciousness and Sentience?

Hosted by Rose Mary

What if reality isn’t happening to you, but rendering through you?

Have you ever heard of the Observer Effect? It’s How Consciousness Renders Reality.

Two people can walk into the exact same room, at the exact same moment, and experience two completely different worlds? One sees chaos and tension; the other sees opportunity and warmth.

We are taught from a young age that the world is a solid, unshakeable stage. We are trained to believe that life is a movie playing on a screen, and we are just sitting in the back row watching it happen to us.

But what if reality works less like a static movie screen and more like a live mirror?

When you tune a radio, you don’t create the music—you simply tune into the frequency carrying it. Consciousness works the same way. Your focus, your deep-held assumptions, and your quiet internal state act as the dial.

Science and philosophy are both arriving at the same mind-bending conclusion: the world around us doesn’t just sit there independent of us. It responds to how we look at it.

  • Have you ever noticed that on days you wake up expecting everything to go wrong, traffic jams, spilt coffee, and rude comments seem to track you down?
  • That isn’t just bad luck. It’s an echo. When your internal filter changes, the external environment rearranges itself to match what you are broadcasting.
Are You Awake, or on Autopilot?

We often think “sentience” just means being alive, having nerves, or feeling physical pain. But most of our daily life is actually driven by automatic conditioning.
  • Someone pokes us → we get angry.
  • A notification pops up → we begin to feel anxious.
  • Something unexpected happens → we fall into old panic habits.
Real sentience begins when you turn off autopilot. It’s the moment you pause and realize: You are not the noisy thoughts in your head. You are the quiet presence listening to them.
True awareness is the ability to witness the world without immediately reacting to it.
Join us this Thursday and let’s explore what consciousness, sentience, and reality are, and how they function.
