Disclosure: Connecting the Dots Through History

Has Something Been Preparing Us?

So many in this generation think disclosure started with the 1947 Roswell crash—or perhaps in December 2017.

But if Non-Human Intelligence can present itself in multiple ways, perhaps we should look further back.

Could one such contact experience have occurred in Fátima, Portugal, in 1917, when three young shepherds reported that an apparition of Mary appeared to them?

They were not the only witnesses to unusual events associated with Fátima. And what better way for an intelligence to get the attention of a predominantly Catholic community.

It raises an intriguing question:

If an intelligence knew that humanity was approaching a dangerous turning point, would it present itself in a form appropriate to the people, culture and era it was trying to reach?

The children reported receiving three warnings involving war, Russia and humanity’s choices. The Third Secret, received in 1917, wasn’t written down by Sister Lúcia until January 1944—while World War II was still raging—and it wasn’t publicly released by the Vatican until 2000… just before another major series of events.

Was this simply a religious experience, something else entirely, or possibly an example of an intelligence communicating in a form appropriate to its audience?

We may never know for certain. But the timing gives us something interesting to consider.

Exactly 100 years later, in December 2017, the modern U.S. disclosure era took a dramatic turn when The New York Times revealed the Pentagon’s AATIP program and reported on Navy encounters associated with the now-famous UAP videos.

That didn’t amount to the government officially saying, “extraterrestrials are real.” What it established publicly was that the U.S. government had been investigating unexplained aerial phenomena. The Pentagon subsequently authenticated the Navy videos in 2020, while Congress increasingly institutionalized the investigation through hearings, reporting requirements and what became AARO.

More Sightings—or More Willingness to Talk?

Whatever may be happening in our skies, one thing is certain: more people are talking about it—and reporting what they see.

The Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office received 757 UAP reports during its 2023–2024 reporting period, bringing its caseload to more than 1,600 sightings. Some of those represented older encounters being reported for the first time rather than newly appearing.

Civilian organizations such as MUFON (Mutual UFO Network, the world’s oldest and largest civilian UFO investigation and research organization) also continue to receive thousands of reports annually, many of which ultimately have conventional explanations ranging from aircraft and satellites to atmospheric phenomena. But some remain unexplained.

Did you know that they are entirely civilian and do not answer to the government or military? MUFON is entirely volunteer-driven, aiming to scientifically study Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) for the benefit of humanity.

Are there actually more unidentified objects in our skies, or are more people finally willing to look up, take notice and report them?
It took me 2 years to be brave enough to report my 2017 sightings.

Reduced stigma matters. So does better radar, improved cameras and faster filming speeds, increased satellite traffic and most importantly… greater public awareness.

For decades, witnesses risked ridicule simply for saying they saw something they couldn’t explain. Today, military pilots have formal reporting channels, Congress holds hearings, government offices investigate UAP, and the term Non-Human Intelligence (NHI) has entered congressional discussion.

And not all objects being reported are necessarily “alien” in the strict sense of the term. Some could be human-built, reverse-engineered craft, as alleged by military, intelligence and government witnesses brought forward by Dr. Steven Greer. His first major public Disclosure Project press briefing was held at the National Press Club on May 9, 2001 where these events entered the public record.

And what an inauspicious year of big stories!

But to understand why today’s conversation is so significant, perhaps we need to go backward again.

Before Roswell

North America wasn’t the only nation where UFO crash-retrieval and reverse-engineering programs have been alleged.

Recent discussions have brought renewed attention to claims of an unusual craft recovered near Magenta, Italy, in 1933—fourteen years before Roswell—and reports that Mussolini established a secret group to investigate it. Michael Salla and others have also explored claims of Italian and German cooperation involving unconventional aircraft research before and during World War II.

How much of that history will ultimately withstand scrutiny remains an open question, especially in an age of AI creations.

And the timeline keeps moving backward as journalists and influencers peel back layers of information once forgotten, dismissed or ignored. And perhaps that’s one of the most interesting things happening in disclosure today.

We’re not merely being given new information. We’re being encouraged to remember and reconsider old information.

For decades, stories of recovered craft, secret programs and attempts to reverse-engineer technology of unknown origin belonged largely to the fringes of UFO literature.

Stories We Once Dismissed

That brings us to people like Bob Lazar.

In 1989, Lazar went public with an extraordinary story. He claimed he had worked at a secret installation called S-4, near Area 51, where he was assigned to study the propulsion system of recovered craft of non-human origin.

He described gravity-based propulsion powered by a stable isotope of Element 115, years before scientists synthesized the element now called moscovium. The isotopes produced by scientists are highly unstable, however, and do not validate the extraordinary properties Lazar attributed to his alleged fuel source.

His story was widely disputed and dismissed. Questions remain concerning his education, employment history and the absence of publicly available evidence confirming that he ever reverse-engineered non-human technology at S-4. Some believe his story was real and that he became the target of a disinformation campaign.

But something around Lazar’s story has changed. And Lazar is hardly alone.

Philip Corso claimed recovered technology had been studied and seeded into industry. Robert Dean spoke publicly about what he said he learned while serving at NATO. Clifford Stone described alleged crash-retrieval operations and encounters with different types of beings.

Paola Harris spent decades interviewing many of these people and preserving their accounts. Her recent conversation with Michael Salla raises an important point: much of what we now call “disclosure” has a history extending far beyond the 2004 Tic Tac encounter or the 2017 New York Times story.

The witnesses were already talking but often censored, dismissed, or discredited.

And now, the tide appears to be turning. People are listening and sharing throughout social media.

But why are researchers digging backward, reopening cases from the 1980s, 1950s, 1940s—and even the 1930s?

How Far Back Do We Go?

If the history of disclosure didn’t begin with Roswell—or even with the alleged crash-retrieval programs of the 1930s—perhaps we need to look much further into our past.

One of the earliest recorded UFO-like accounts in North America dates all the way back to 1639, when Massachusetts Bay Colony Governor John Winthrop recorded reports of a strange light witnessed near present-day Boston.  

This is where our investigation necessarily becomes more speculative.

Ancient cultures left behind stories of gods descending from the heavens, beings interacting with humanity, flying vehicles and even wars among powerful entities in the skies. Modern researchers have connected some of these accounts to the Anunnaki of Mesopotamia (now modern Iraq). And the Vimanas described in Indian literature and other traditions involving beings associated with the heavens.  Zecharia Sitchin explicitly identified the Anunnaki as the Fallen Angels of the Hebrew Bible, and has written multiple books on that topic.

Erich von Däniken popularized the ancient astronauts hypothesis, arguing that extraterrestrials visited Earth in antiquity and influenced human technology and religion.

There are even modern theories involving intelligent reptilian beings. They are usually portrayed as extraterrestrial “reptilian overlords,” but what if we’re looking in the wrong direction? If such beings existed at all, could they represent an ancient terrestrial intelligence—perhaps one that developed on Earth long before modern humanity?

There is presently no evidence establishing such a civilization. But the question illustrates an important limitation in the disclosure conversation:

Non-Human Intelligence does not necessarily mean extraterrestrial.

Stories of unusual activity in the heavens didn’t disappear with the ancient world.

In 1561, residents of Nuremberg witnessed what a contemporary broadsheet portrayed as an extraordinary spectacle involving numerous objects in the sky. Centuries later, some interpreted the illustration as an aerial battle, while historians have offered more conventional explanations involving atmospheric phenomena.

Once again, we’re left with an old report and a modern question:

What did those people actually see?

Perhaps the greater mystery isn’t that humanity has suddenly begun encountering the unknown.

Perhaps we’ve been trying to describe it for thousands of years.

Are We Approaching Another Turning Point?

This brings us back to Fátima.

Do unusual encounters, warnings and revelations become more prominent when humanity approaches a dangerous—or transformative—turning point?

Different traditions describe such transitions differently.

Some contemporary researchers speak of a Solar Flash, associated with changes on Earth or in human consciousness. Zoroastrian tradition contains the concept of Frashokereti—the final renovation of creation, when evil is ultimately defeated and creation restored or “made perfect.”

Many of us hope this is the case, and David Wilcock had talked repeatedly about the solar flash, and that it would not be destructive, but transformative for all humanity.

Ancient Indian traditions describe enormous repeating cycles of ages. Other cultures developed calendars based upon celestial cycles.

And then there is one very real astronomical cycle: the precession of the equinoxes.

Over roughly 26,000 years, Earth’s rotational axis slowly changes orientation, causing the equinoctial points to move through the constellations of the zodiac. We can measure that motion.

While we cannot “scientifically” establish that completing such a cycle will transform human consciousness, there are numerous traditions across multiple religions that associate cosmic cycles with periods of transformation.

I’ve discussed these cycles for several years because I keep returning to the same question:

What if humanity is not just approaching another political or technological change, but a much larger turning point?

If you watch this video, you’ll see some interesting overlaps in how such convergences affect society. He also provides good news about this current cosmic cycle.

There are cycles within cycles—personal, political, solar, planetary and astronomical. Civilizations rise and fall. Ideas disappear and return. Information once hidden becomes visible again.

Perhaps what we’re doing now is a kind of social archaeology and anthropology—digging through old stories, forgotten testimony and historical rabbit holes to reconsider what earlier generations experienced, believed and tried to tell us.

And sometimes, what we uncover looks surprisingly familiar.

Today, after decades of ridicule and secrecy, humanity is openly asking whether we share this universe with other forms of intelligence.

If disclosure is simply the gradual release of information accumulated behind classified doors for decades, perhaps we’re finally seeing signs that the slow drip is over, and the dam is breaking.

Some have called this a “limited hangout”—allowing enough information into public view to satisfy growing demands for disclosure while keeping more sensitive material safely behind classified doors.

Perhaps the timing is coincidence. Perhaps disclosure itself is creating the increased interest. And where attention goes, energy flows.

Are we being prepared for something?

If humanity were approaching a major transition, would we see previously hidden information surfacing? Would old stories suddenly acquire new relevance? Would people begin questioning what they had been taught about their history and their place in the universe?

And would an intelligence aware of what was coming attempt to prepare us beforehand—perhaps appearing in whatever form the people of that culture and era were capable of understanding?

Are we ready for a profound reset in how we understand ourselves?

Are we moving into greater consciousness—and perhaps abilities we have forgotten or never realized we possessed?

And if some of these extraordinary stories eventually prove true, are we ready to discover that the beings we’ve been calling aliens aren’t strangers arriving for the first time?

Perhaps some of our “cosmic cousins” have been a part of our story all along.

Future Shock—or Future Ready?

The world has been going through an extraordinary period of turmoil. Gregg Braden describes our time as a rare convergence of three massive natural cycles involving climate, economics and human conflict.

Back in 1970, American futurist Alvin Toffler published Future Shock, describing the psychological effects upon individuals—and entire societies—of experiencing “too much change in too short a period of time.”

Does that sound familiar?

Technology is advancing at breathtaking speed. Artificial intelligence is changing how we work, communicate and even define intelligence. Wars and geopolitical alliances are shifting. Economic systems are under strain. Long-held institutions are being questioned.

Information once difficult to obtain is available to anyone willing to look for it. And somewhere in the middle of all this upheaval, humanity is once again asking one of its oldest questions:

Are we alone?

Perhaps all this change explains why disclosure is receiving so much attention now. Or perhaps disclosure is itself part of the change.

We’ve followed dots stretching from ancient stories and celestial battles, to Fátima, alleged crash retrievals, Roswell, contactees, whistleblowers, congressional hearings and today’s rapidly expanding discussion of Non-Human Intelligence.

Not every dot can be proven. Some may ultimately prove unrelated. Others may turn out to be far more important than we presently realize. But taken together, they leave us with questions worth considering. And there is also the curious divide in the disclosure story.

Much of the military and government conversation is framed around national security, unknown capabilities, airspace incursions and potential threats.

Yet many of the contactees and experiencers interviewed over the decades tell a very different story—one involving communication, warnings about humanity’s behavior, consciousness and, frequently, encounters they perceived as benevolent.

Paola Harris’s work preserves many of those accounts and raises an interesting question:

Are we being prepared to meet something—or to fear it?

I’ll ask again… If an intelligence knew that humanity was approaching a dangerous turning point, would it present itself in a form appropriate to the people, culture and era it was trying to reach?

Do reports of contact, apparitions and warnings become more prominent when humanity approaches periods of war, upheaval or potential catastrophe?

And most importantly:

Why now? Is something coming?

Maybe what we’re collectively experiencing really is a kind of future shock as we mentally, physically and spiritually adjust to extraordinary change.

But I prefer another possibility. Perhaps we’re becoming future ready. And for some of us, Prepare for Change became more than a thought. It became a directive—to question, explore, connect the dots and perhaps awaken something in the viewer.

For many contactees and experiencers, the encounter itself becomes a catalyst for change—awakening a greater sense of connection, spiritual awareness and humanity’s place in a larger universe. Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell described a similar transformation after experiencing a profound sense of unity, or samadhi, while returning from the Moon. Perhaps preparation for our place in the galaxy begins with changing how we see our place on Earth.

Maybe this isn’t merely about preparing humanity to discover life elsewhere in the universe. Perhaps it’s about preparing us for a much greater understanding of life itself—who we are, what we’re capable of, where we came from, and our place within a larger cosmic family.

If so, disclosure may not be the end of the story.

It may be the beginning of humanity’s next great adventure.
