We are busy creating infrastructure to make them effective, which is a major part of the Prepare for Change Network’s responsibilities. Our vision of this includes a web page for regions and a post for each local group (posts have comments). The posts will be attached to the Regional Web Page.
Going forward the Prepare for Change Network Website will offer additional tools for regional, city and local group leaders to use through their website log-in. One of these will allow them to create enhanced emails to their entire region, city or local groups. The emails will use a newsletter format with graphics and images that can display on smartphones as well as desktops and tablets. This project will begin weeks after the Participants Database is ready. Our growing base of participants will want their communication to be more than text, they will want graphics and formatted text as well. This will allow us to use social media icons as well.
It is an ambitious goal that looks to the near future when the membership is much larger and regional leadership will need detailed communications capabilities to assist Healing and Technology Groups connect with their larger communities, who will need our assistance after the Event. Until then, we are growing as fast as we can, and getting our regional Participants into a good database accessible from the admin panel so these types of tools will be available is a top priority.
Currently we are incorporating all available web services that can help the participants connect, share and learn. Mailing List systems, Google Groups, and Meetup are services that are proving useful. This page will be the hub for these new communications tools, so come back and see what is new on a regular basis.
After weighing our options we have decided to adopt a Mailing List system for our various groups. This is because the list format allows slow networks and older computers to engage at the same level as the latest models. It allows you to save those messages that are important to you and discard the rest. The important aspect is to have lists for regions, cities and local groups so they can each focus on what is current and important to them. This type of system allows you to send and email to it to start your subscription. Its simple and elegant. When available, they will be linked from your regional page, close to the local Event Support Group post link.
