  1. Brilliant Discussion! Thank you so very much gentlemen for assuring us that common sense has not been a casualty of this Covid creation. So many reassuring and sound ideas put for here! Breath of fresh air. Thank you all for your time, courage and integrity in putting this interview together. Hope to hear lots more from you.

  2. Gosh, I guess to each his or her own rebellious behaviour, but why waste time on being flagged, told to prove something, held up, forced to find a place to stay, losing lots of time that isn’t quality time at all? Those regulations are in place with people present who are forced to obey, not knowing better most of the time, the protocols of these pandemic regulations and rules. Why not target the root of the pandemic, where the designers are?

The many who are working in law and enforcement, standing at entrances, borders and other locations where lots of people are passing by, are hardly capable of dealing with such rebellion, for they’re not in the know, you see?

To me, rebellion on that level, travelling, creating stumbling blocks for oneself, and losing time, risking safety and comfort, that’s not worth it, at least, not to me. It smells of teenager-rebellion, rebellion for the fun of it at an age when it’s appropriate. Do I lack a sense of humour now?

I’m following the rules and regulations, without open rebellion, but I do make hilarious remarks at times, at the entrance of a supermarket, where we’re supposed to take a trolley on wheels, disinfect it and at the same time, in the shared space inside, navigate such a ridiculous large trolley, and still keep a distance of 1,5 meter from each other.

Shaking my head in silence is the only sign of discomfort, visible to others. I’ve begun dancing on African beats again, releasing the fury that I feel, at times, about this madness. Otherwise, I’m as joyful and content as I usually am, happy with myself. I live without fear and that helps. Open rebellion isn’t my thing, playing the “king’s jester” is more fun, in my own world without royalty. Although, to be honest, that involves a certain risk and a form of rebellion as well. ???? Diplomacy with martial art for the mind involved is always fascinating to me.

Think of the British series “Yes Minister” :

These productions, like “Dad’s Army” and “Keeping up Appearances” all these great creations of the ’80s, show the exact reality of Britain’s inner lining. Never one word of critique or rudeness, related to that inner lining, to a British individual, oh no. NEVER!

It’s in these humorous television series that Britain shows self-knowledge, expressed through humour. I know, I’ve moved far from the original subject, ha!. But when rebellion is “in the air” I can’t help thinking of my 5 years in Britain, the rebel in me triggered, lots!
I’ve written quite a number of reader’s letters to papers at the time. Well received. And confronted the holy shine and coward in bullies as well. Not so well received.
