Are You Reacting Out of Fear or Feeling Triggered?

Rev. Kat Carroll

I write to share information.  Despite best efforts to only share what is already available and from varying points of view (and I list my sources), every now and then someone will be triggered by what is reported.

We really don’t have any control over what we hear or see on TV or in social media.  Or do we? We can choose to ignore it, change the channel, even block that person so we no longer receive information from that individual. But, should we ban the person, remove their content… Block their first amendment rights?

I’ve noticed in this past week, there are a lot of unhinged people. Some verbally attacking others, some picking fights over the smallest misunderstanding, and many feeling confused and wondering if they need a major change or move in their life.  Relationships are being challenged.  What they may not understand is that there are external forces that may be driving those feelings.

We’ve had an increase in solar activity with C to X class flares. Solor activity affects human consciousness.  As you can see from this chart, they come in repeating cycles.  For those who follow astrology, you understand that certain alignments also influence our thoughts and feelings and, they too come in cycles.

Article on Planetary Influences on Human Behavior.

What you are experiencing are just that, thoughts & feelings, until you act.  The question is, should you take any action when you are in a heightened or unbalanced emotional state?

We don’t always have control over our environment and what’s coming at us in the way of a storm of information.  The better alternative to immediately reacting to information may be to go within and do some contemplation. Look at those feelings and determine if you have felt this way for a long time, or is it a new and transient feeling. A hasty decision or even a comment made in haste could jeapardize a relationships or a job.

Life doesn’t happen to you; it  happens for you.  If you feel that it’s the other way around, then you are slipping into victim mode.  Every experience, both good and bad, is there to provide a lesson, to help you heal from some trauma or past experience you have never released, including from past lives. They are for your spiritual growth. Until you recognize and heal them, you may experience them on a repeating cycle. Wash, rinse, repeat…

Every person you meet who you feel something strongly about (and generally upsetting to you) is a mirror or reflection of something within you that may need healing.

There was an extremely negative reaction to a research article I recently posted. This person made multiple, derogatory comments, shamed me, and eventually labeled me.  This person was emotionally triggered. Thankfully, I had the wherewithal to not respond in-kind to the individual’s remarks, as I realized, there was some kind of trauma this person may be subconsciously dealing with in that moment.  That person’s initial reaction was one of anger, fear and bullying.

Why are some reactions so visceral?  It could be that the person on the attack has had an experience that they don’t wish to remember.  The information may be shocking to their senses and sensibility. The information may cause cognitive dissonance.

We don’t need to react in a negative way to something that makes us uncomfortable. We can choose to ignore it or research for ourself to disprove the information, or to educate ourselves and gain a different perspective. We can even talk about it to learn from each other.

Initial judgement may be misguided based on information or disinformation we have received. There is no law that keeps media or the government from lying or misleading the public. It has been used for information but also for propaganda and as a tool to steer humanity into certain beliefs and to make them more compliant.

It’s important to remember that there are factions controlling the type of information that’s released in media including television, and all social media platforms (most owned by a very small number of organizations).  They’ve been able to collect information about each and every one of us who use cell phones and social media for years, especially since the Emergency Acts written following 9/11/01. It’s highly likely that suggested articles and videos received in your inbox are based on what you look at and are chosen by algorithms.

I’m going out on a limb here and say I believe most people know that 9/11 was not as it was reported in the news, and that there was much more to the story and more people involved than a few guys with box cutters hijacking airlines. And they never did find those weapons of mass distruction during the war that followed.

There are many people who now know that the 2020 pandemic was not as it was reported and there were millions of dollars made by certain corporations. Many people now understand that the policies and mandates made at that time under the Emergency Act took away more freedoms, privacy and included an attempt to limit our 1st Amendment rights to free speech. Why?

If you have a specific agenda or narrative you want the public to believe, you use media, all of it.  The internet, movies and TV shows can be quickly produced to seed the consciousness of the public using predictive programming.

Per ChatGPT’s Open AI: Predictive programming is a concept often discussed in conspiracy theories and speculative thought, suggesting that certain elements in movies, TV shows, and other forms of media contain hidden messages or clues about future events. Proponents of this idea believe that these media works are intentionally created by powerful individuals or groups to prepare the public for upcoming events, thus making those events more acceptable or easier to digest when they actually occur.

I found a good article about how information we provide in social media, via our likes, dislikes and the our searches in social media, can be used to divide and conquer society.  Divide and conquer: digital platforms and growing polarization

We also need to realize that our reaction to information, real, implied, or a lie, are predicated on our own life experiences and filters.  When we find ourself triggered by information, it’s important to remember that this has historically been a goal; to keeps our focus on fighting each other rather than looking at the bigger picture and source of our problem(s).

Below are some examples of the Hegelian Dialectic in recent practice:

The only way I see around our many problems is in shifting our perspective through more introspection.  We must change ourselves before trying to change the world.  We should increase our awareness and use discernment to recognize when we are being emotionally manipulated or triggered into making rash decisions.

If we work together with compassion rather than competition or attempts at controlling the narrative to fit our personal comfort level, perhaps we can find solutions to problems that plague us all.

I've been interested in all things related to metaphysics, parapsychology, spirituality and anything related to space since childhood. I'm the kid who used to let the Jehova Witness and Mormans into the house so I could ask a million questions. I've always wanted to be of service and ended up working as an EMT and later in law enforcement. A family job transfer lead me to Washington State for 5 years where I went back to studying spiritual phenomenon and meeting some fascinating people. I've had several initiations, was taught energy healing and became certified in Reiki III over the final 3 years. I had a larger awakening and understanding of how it Reiki worked, remote sensing and more after returning to CA in 2001. I love researching and now writing and being a spokesperson for benevolent contact with NHIB through the practice of meditation. I experienced a spontaneous healing and not long after the "quickening" of 12/21/2012, began having more paranormal experiences, including seeing the UFOs, and orbs that fly over at night. I'm also a volunteer /Admin for ETLetsTalk and love teaching others how to make that connection that I know will one day lead us out of the darkness and into a brighter future.

  1. Thank you! Appreciate your truth! I used to teach in the inner city. Many children wanted to keep their coats on in class and flip their hood up. I called it turtleing! Now I think about those times that a child would feel so unsafe in the world she/he would use a coat and hood as an escape. My job was to provide that safety and understanding. 💕

    • Thanks Jaci! What you do is fantastic! Aren't there a lot of adults out there reacting or hiding because they don't feel safe? One of our jobs should always be to help them with compassion rather than creating more fear or labeling them, which would build more barriors to understanding. Compassion should be our reaction. Love is always the answer.
