The phrase “greater good” has long been the chosen strap line to weaponise control.
As an example, justifying net-zero energy poverty, lockdowns, and DEI discrimination.
The Question we all need to address is , do we exist to serve society, or society exist to serve us.
The Collectivist Case: Claiming society is an organic whole that is greater than its parts, and Individuals must submit.
Adolf Hitler declared: “The common good before the individual good.”
Bill Gates’ Modern Parallel: In 2021, warned, How to Avoid a Climate Disaster that humanity faced extinction without immediate net-zero.
Gates lobbied for carbon taxes, green subsidies, and global mandates. Miraculously by October 2025, Gates reversed his claims,stating “Climate change won’t end humanity.” No apology. No refunds. Just a pivot to “adaptation” tech, where his billions are invested. The demand for his social obedience remains; only the excuse changed.
Ludwig von Mises saw this coming: when “society” is treated as a super-being with rights, individual freedom is the first casualty.
The Individualist Defence: Society Serves People.
John Locke: Government exists only to protect life, liberty, and property, with consent.
Ayn Rand: There is no “collective mind” — only individuals. The “common good” is a fiction.
John Stuart Mill: Force is only justified to prevent harm to others, never for someone’s “own good.”
The Slippery Slope:
“Power defines the greater good.”

• Environmentalism
Net-zero policies raised UK energy bills by £170/year (ONS). Bill Gates’ lobbying helped drive it. Until his 2025 reverse memo admitting the panic was completely overblown, but he still kept hold of all the profits.
• Public Health Lockdowns
Destroyed lives, suicide, and poverty.
Matt Hancock’s PPE Scandal:
Back then the Health Secretary, Hancock oversaw £15billion in emergency PPE contracts, much awarded without tender to Tory donors associates and his friends. Billions in unusable gear. At the COVID Inquiry, the slippery snake claimed the NHS was “hours from collapse.”
Then, Maverick Andrew Bridgen was expelled from the Conservatives for questioning vaccine safety. In January 2023, Matt Hancock tweeted that Bridgen spread “dangerous antisemitic, anti-vax conspiracy theories” after Bridgen compared vaccine harms to the Holocaust.
In April 2025, the High Court ruled the case must go to full trial. Matt Hancock tried relentlessly to dismiss it. He Failed appallingly . Slippery Hancock didn’t bank on Bridgen, being the lone voice, forcing accountability relentlessly for the British People .
• Equity Initiatives DEI quotas replace merit with identity.
Badenoch’s Exposure: As Equalities Minister (2023–2024), Kemi Badenoch ordered a review of Civil Service DEI spending. Found: £13m/year in the NHS alone on “unconscious bias” training with zero proven impact. Uncovered crony contracts, taxpayer cash funnelled to linked consultants and NGOs via opaque grants. Kemi Badenoch scrapped mandatory DEI roles and quotas.
Critics called it “anti-equity.” Supporters called it ending corruption.
Time will tell .
Historical Precedents
Joseph Stalin: 6–10 million starved for the “proletariat.”
Adolf Hitler: 11 million murdered for the “Volk.”
Mao Zedong: 30–45 million dead for the “Great Leap.”
Bill Gates’ Mini-Version: His net-zero push shut coal plants in India and 50 million lost power (World Bank, 2023). His 2025 memo: “We overestimated urgency.” Damage done. No accountability.
Another Way : Voluntary Action
Real progress comes from free individuals acting in self-interest and not state coercion.
Bill Gates’ Pivot Confirms It: He now praises “market-driven adaptation.” Exactly what critics said all along.
The “greater good” is a tyrannical blank cheque.
• Bill Gates demanded sacrifice, then admitted he was wrong.
• Matt Hancock enforced lockdowns and cronyism, now faces court.
• Kemi Badenoch exposed DEI as a grift — and then cut it.
CONCLUSION
Society has no rights, only individuals do. When the people stop being led by controlled Government’s, and false promises – Life will get better for Great Britain .
