History of Mind Control
How We are Still Subjected to its Influence
Rev. Kat Carroll
Earlier this week, I published an article about how religion has been used to control populations, instilling guilt, shame, and fear over the salvation of one’s soul. In that piece, I used the examples of the Stargate SG‑1 TV series to show how they depicted manipulation through the Goa’uld, the Replicators, and the Ori — all parallels to how humanity has been influenced by spiritual and ideological systems. If you missed it, here is the link: The Ori, Ascension, and the Sovereignty of Consciousness
We are still subject to subtle versions of mind control and it’s been happening over many decades.

Mainstream media has become the voice people follow for information on politics, war, the environment, vaccines, health issues, and the “approved” solutions. But why does every story arrive with a particular narrative attached?
I’ve noticed a trend: populations are managed through fear, incentives, guilt, and pressure to conform. Whether through government mandates, social pressure, corporate influence, or global initiatives like Agenda 21 during the Covid pandemic, these tactics have shaped public behavior more than many realize.
None of this is new.
Nazi Experiments and the Birth of Psychological Manipulation
After WWII and after absorbing many Nazi scientists through Project Paperclip, the U.S. inherited not only their technical expertise but also some of their psychological methods. This shift helped move intelligence agencies from traditional espionage toward more experimental behavioral and mind-altering operations.
Before MK-Ultra became a household name, there were the precursor programs, Operation Bluebird & Artichoke, which explored:
- hypnosis
- forced addiction and withdrawal
- the creation of controlled dissociation
- interrogation techniques that bypassed free will
- early attempts at induced amnesia via electro-shock
These were designed initially to break prisoners of war but soon extended to experiments on American citizens. The CIA wanted to know: Could a person be programmed? Could their loyalty be overwritten? Could memory be selectively erased or implanted?
Operation Bluebird and Artichoke began in 1951 and the MKUltra projects started two years later. These laid the foundation for what came next.
MK-Ultra — The Apex of Covert Mind Control
Officially launched in 1953 under CIA Director Allen Dulles, MK-Ultra was the agency’s most aggressive attempt to weaponize the human mind. Its methods spanned chemical, psychological, and physical extremes, including:
high-dose psychedelics
sensory deprivation
extreme heat and cold
overpowered electroshock
layered hypnosis
trauma-induced dissociation
sexual coercion and blackmail
Test subjects included prisoners, mental patients, soldiers, students, sex workers, and even CIA employees — almost always without consent, and often without any awareness of what was being done to them.
When the program surfaced during the 1970s Church Committee hearings, the CIA destroyed most of its records. But the surviving testimony and recovered documents made one thing clear: the U.S. government was actively exploring how to create programmable humans — modern Manchurian Candidates.
Think of the ramifications for these types of programs… Assassins that would not remember what they had done, terrorist triggered to carry out the unconscionable acts after being triggered, such as driving their vehicles into street crowds, something that only in the past year or two has became a problem. Why do we seldom, if ever, hear about follow up reports on these atrocities, unless the target is/was, the president? Even then, some cases are quickly silenced.
Operation Mockingbird — Media Mind Control for the Masses
While MK-Ultra targeted individuals, Operation Mockingbird targeted everyone. Beginning in the early Cold War, the CIA quietly infiltrated:
newsrooms
academic journals
radio networks
television anchors
Hollywood studios
Over 400 journalists knowingly collaborated, while others were influenced through payment, ideology, or blackmail. Their mission was simple: shape public perception.
The Mockingbird press used repetition, emotional framing, and synchronized narratives to steer collective opinion — the kind of influence that works best when people don’t notice it’s happening. This short video shows it in action: Pulling strings: Operation Mockingbird
As media ownership consolidated over the decades, Mockingbird didn’t disappear; it simply evolved. Today, five or six major corporations control nearly all mainstream news. Those viral compilations of dozens of local stations reading the exact same script?
That’s Mockingbird’s legacy — updated for the 21st century.
The same techniques were used to sell war. Every major conflict required public consent, and media was the tool to manufacture it: fear, patriotism, outrage, heroism — blended into a psychological cocktail designed to direct emotion and shape belief.
The most dangerous form of mind control isn’t hidden in secret labs. It’s broadcast in plain sight.
Modern Mind Control — Pandemic Panic to Pharmaceutical Compliance
The Covid-19 era revealed just how sophisticated mass persuasion has become.
We witnessed:
guilt-based pressure (“You’re killing your grandparents!”)
corporate coercion (“Get the shot or lose your job.”)
social rewards (free donuts, free beer, gift cards, marijuana, even cash)
emotional exhaustion from contradictory rules and shifting guidelines
The strategy was painfully clear: keep the public confused, afraid, and compliant.
It echoed a quote often attributed to former CIA Director William Casey:
“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”
Confusion makes people suggestible.
Exhaustion makes people compliant.
Fear shuts down discernment.
None of the mixed messaging was accidental. It was engineered, a psychological fog created through constantly changing narratives about masks, distancing, testing, vaccines, boosters, and variants. And there was a hidden agenda.
GLP-1 Weight-Loss Drugs — A New Wave of Entrainment
A new mass-level conditioning campaign has begun — this time through the rollout of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro.
The psychological blueprint is familiar:
create desire through celebrity transformations
amplify scarcity (“It’s nearly impossible to get!”)
normalize long-term dependency
promise a new identity through pharmaceutical salvation
Problem → Reaction → Solution.
It’s a formula that works every time.
At first, these drugs were priced out of reach and covered only for diabetes. Now they’re being offered without prescriptions, at lower prices, and through online clinics. The public was primed to want them — then shown a way to get them.
Most people took the bait, hook, line, and sinker, and willingly, began chasing the image of celebrities they were conditioned to admire.
But this next generation of drugs carries its own risks: long-term metabolic disruption, rebound weight gain, psychological reliance, and the normalization of lifelong pharmaceutical management. Yet the marketing machine remains unstoppable.
Another population-wide entrainment campaign is underway, one built not on fear this time, but on desire, insecurity, and identity programming.
And this has consequences. When people constantly measure themselves against celebrities and carefully curated online personas, it fuels depression and body dysmorphia, the belief that you are never physically “enough,” be it pretty enough, thin enough, strong enough.
Hollywood has given entire generations unrealistic expectations, and many young adults internalize those standards without realizing they were manufactured.
Psychic Spies and Remote Viewing
There are other aspects of mind control — and not all of them rely on trauma. Many programs sought to access hidden human potential, creating new personalities with heightened perception, telepathy, or enhanced intuition. Knowledge of how to unlock those inner doors exists, but much of it remains tightly guarded.
For example, until 1995 the U.S. Remote Viewing Program was one of the government’s best-kept secrets. Developed through SRI and funded by intelligence agencies, it trained individuals to perceive distant locations and gather information without being physically present. What began as psychic espionage soon revealed something far more profound: anyone could learn to remote view with the right method and state of mind. Trauma is not required — only focused awareness.
Its success is still downplayed today. Wikipedia calls it “pseudoscience,” but those who trained in it know better. The military wasn’t scared of failure — they were scared of how well it worked, and who might use it outside their control.
You can watch the full documentary of Third Eye Spies that talks about the remote viewing program’s history and experiments here. AND IT’S FREE!
Stranger Things — Fiction Echoing Reality
Season after season, Stranger Things leans heavily into themes that mirror real experimental programs. In the show, a creature from a hostile alternate dimension (the Upside Down) is unleashed after a government laboratory conducts secret experiments on children.
One of those children, known only as Eleven, or El by her friends, escapes with no memory of her past. Tattooed with her number and raised in a laboratory environment, she develops powerful abilities such as telekinesis, remote viewing, and psychic connections; a direct result of years of controlled conditioning. This makes her an asset and a weapon that the government desires to keep under its control.

El’s story in Stranger Things is not far from the testimonies of those associated with the Montauk Project, a controversial series of alleged experiments said to have taken place at Camp Hero on Long Island from 1971 to 1983. While mainstream sources dismiss it as conspiracy, numerous individuals have come forward claiming they were part of such programs as children.
That brings to mind another form of mind control. Control of information.
Censorship as Mind Control
Even censorship becomes a subtle form of influence. Wikipedia, “fact-checkers,” and debunkers rewrite history, bury inconvenient testimonies, and reshape the public narrative into something safe, sanitized, and government-approved. The question becomes:
How much truth is hidden in plain sight?
And how much have we been conditioned to dismiss?
Science fiction often slips real information through the cracks disguised as entertainment so it won’t raise alarms.
The real question is: Are you aware… Have you been paying attention?
The Thread That Connects Them All
Whether through covert experiments, controlled media, Hollywood scripts, war propaganda, pandemic narratives, or pharmaceutical campaigns, the goal has always been the same: to influence human behavior without awareness.

But once you see the pattern, you can’t unsee it. Awareness breaks the spell.
We are remembering who we are — intuitive, discerning, sovereign beings whose inner truth can’t be overridden by external programming.
Mind control disconnects people from their own knowing.
Mind sovereignty begins the moment we reclaim it.
Every person who wakes up…
every person who chooses consciousness over fear…
weakens the machinery that depended on our blind trust.
We are not the subjects these programs hoped to create.
We are the generation that sees through the veil.
Humanity cannot be controlled once it remembers itself. And that great awakening is already well underway.
In Closing…
The song “Uprising” by Muse comes to mind — released in 2009 during another period of global crisis. Even then, people sensed the tide turning and felt that “we would be victorious.”
Victory of the Light — the Light within us.
There’s no stopping it now.
