The Hidden Architecture of Time, Cycles, and the Ancient World
Rev Kat Carroll
In my last article, Solar Storms & Soul Shifts: Is Humanity Undergoing a Cosmic Activation?, I touched on the timing of cosmic events and mentioned the Precession of the Equinoxes. After reading it, my astrologer friend, Claudio Silvaggi of ioutome, pointed out that the ancient Egyptians measured time and cosmic cycles in a very different way.
Naturally, I was intrigued.
So, I asked ChatGPT to help unpack the mathematics behind these ancient systems and added insights of my own. And that’s when things started to get interesting. Much more interesting than I anticipated.
History by the Numbers
Across continents and civilizations, separated by oceans and millennia, ancient peoples built temples, calendars, stone monuments, and star maps using the same mathematical fingerprints. It is almost as if humanity inherited a blueprint, a cosmic code from an earlier age and preserved in geometry, myth, and stone.
These numbers appear everywhere: 12, 60, 108, 432, 864, 2160, 25920.
You’ll find them in the dimensions of pyramids, in Vedic cycles, in Mayan calendars, in Greek harmonics, and in the way we still measure time today.
But why?
Why did the earliest mathematicians prefer numbers not based on ten fingers, but on cosmic harmonics?
This is the story behind that mystery — the hidden architecture of time itself.
Base-60: The Original Cosmic Language
Modern mathematics centers on ten because humans have ten fingers.
But the oldest scientific civilizations — Sumer, Babylon, and pre-dynastic Egypt — didn’t use base-10.
They used base-60, the most elegant, divisible, and astronomically tuned counting system ever devised.
Base-60 can divide cleanly by: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30

Which is why we still inherit it today:
- 360 degrees in a circle
- 60 minutes in an hour
- 60 seconds in a minute
- 12 months in a year
- 24 hours in a day
This isn’t primitive.
It’s brilliant — far more sophisticated than what we teach in modern schools.
But it raises a profound question:
Why would early humans invent a mathematical system optimized not for daily life, but for astronomy?
Unless it wasn’t invented by ordinary hands…
A Forgotten Origin? The Six-Finger Hypothesis
Some researchers have proposed an intriguing possibility:
if the earliest astronomer-priests — or the culture-bearers who first transmitted this knowledge — had six fingers, then base-60 would not be unusual at all.
Six digits per hand create a natural base-6 counting method.
Two hands produce 12.
And expanding that pattern gives 60, the same way ten fingers create 10, 100, and 1000.
This six-fold symmetry doesn’t just explain the math.
It illuminates the entire architecture of ancient timekeeping, all of which is mysteriously centered on 12:
The hours of day and night, months in a year, 12 zodiac signs, 12 ages in the Great Year, the 12 constellations the Sun passes through, 12 gods, 12 tribes, 12 disciples, and 12 “around 1” – a universal mandala pattern found worldwide
Even sacred geometry mirrors this:
A circle divided into 12 sectors, each 30 degrees, forming the 360° still used today.
If the first astronomers counted using six fingers, literally or symbolically, their number system would naturally generate:
6 → 12 → 30 → 60 → 360 → 720 → 12,960 → 25,920
These are the same numbers found in:
- planetary cycles
- eclipse patterns
- precessional ages
- pyramid geometry
- Vedic Yuga systems
- Babylonian astronomy
- temple alignments across the ancient world
Whether one interprets this as physiology guiding mathematics, or as a symbolic motif representing cosmic order, the result is the same:
The world’s ancient measurement systems appear to have emerged from a unified harmonic structure — one that revolves around 6 and 12.
This is not coincidence. It is a signature.
And I’ll bet six fingers would rock on piano or guitar!!
The Great Year: Two Cycles, One Sky
Most of us learned that the precession of the equinoxes, Earth’s slow axial wobble, takes roughly 25,920 years.
This is the scientific value.
But the ancient Egyptians preserved a different number:
26,784 years, divided into 48 Phoenix cycles of 558 years each.
Both cycles track the same celestial motion — but through different lenses.
Scientific precession measures mechanics.
Egyptian precession measures harmonics.
One is the clockwork, the other is the music.
And it is astonishing that both systems, separated by thousands of years, land within a few percent of one another… a negligible difference on the scale of tens of millennia.
The Egyptians were not guessing. They were encoding cosmology.
The Great Pyramid: A Geometric Model of the Earth
If the Great Pyramid had been a stone textbook, it could not encode more knowledge.
Consider this:
- The height, multiplied by 43,200, equals the polar radius of the Earth.
- The base perimeter, multiplied by 43,200, equals the equatorial circumference of the Earth.
- The slope angle embeds π and φ.
These scale factors based on 432 appear worldwide:
- Vedic cycles
- Norse mythology
- Babylonian mathematics
- Musical tuning
- The Sun’s diameter (~864,000 miles)
A pattern emerges — a language of number and geometry that crosses civilizations.
Gematria and the God Code: Mathematics of the Soul
Hebrew gematria assigns numerical values to letters, creating encoded layers of meaning. Some words correspond to cosmological constants, orbital ratios, or mathematical structures. Gematria becomes a method of preserving scientific knowledge within spiritual language.
Gregg Braden’s work adds another layer — not through architecture or astronomy, but through language.
In Hebrew gematria, the words “neshamah” (soul) and “hashamayim” (heaven) both equal 395.
Reducing the number (3 + 9 + 5 = 17 → 1 + 7 = 8) reveals a shared harmonic identity.
Braden interprets this as evidence of a deeper numerical pattern linking life, divinity, and creation.
Numbers become a unifying language between:
- the cosmos
- the body
- the spirit
- ancient texts
Gematria becomes another example of humanity using mathematics as a bridge between worlds; a way of mapping the invisible through the logic of number. You may enjoy his videos and book, the God Code.
The Universal Numbers: A Shared Ancient Code
Once you notice the sacred numbers — 108, 216, 432, 864, 2160, 25920 — you begin to see them everywhere:
- 108 beads on a mala
- 216 in Mayan the calendar
- 432,000 warriors in Norse mythology
- 864 in solar measurements
- 2160 as the length of an astrological age
- 25920 as the Great Year
These numbers form a harmonic series — a cosmic musical scale.
A Note on 432 Hz: The Lost Harmonic
Not all sacred mathematics is carved in stone or encoded in calendars. Some lives in sound.
In the late 19th century, legendary composer Giuseppe Verdi proposed tuning musical instruments to 432 Hz, believing it aligned more naturally with human physiology and with the harmonic structures found in nature. It also caused less strain on the voice while singing.
Many traditions used tuning systems near this value, noting their calming and resonant effects. However, in 1939 an international conference in London adopted A = 440 Hz as the official concert pitch which was later formalized under ISO 16.
But 432 remains better for our health, per this study by PubMed: Music Tuned to 440 Hz Versus 432 Hz and the Health Effects: A Double-blind Cross-over Pilot Study
Modern research has begun to revisit this shift back to 432 Hz, which is also found in most healing music and binaural beats.
In Closing
As we keep brushing dust from the bones of forgotten ages, some quite large, some with more fingers than expected — we discover that the ancients were speaking in a language of geometry, harmony, and cosmic memory. Perhaps we are more than we recall. And perhaps the story of our world was never truly lost, only waiting for us to re-member the pattern woven into time itself.

Addendum
I woke up at 2:30 and began writing this article on Dec. 8. I never went back to bed, I just kept writing until I was satisfied. When I finally finished and sat to listen to videos, to my astonishment, Dr. Michael Salla had just published an interview about the pyramids and sacred geometry this very day. Now that’s some crazy universal timing!
The following summary is from the description accompanying the interview:
“Dr. Michael Salla interviewed Dr Sam Osmanagich, an internationally recognized archeologist who discovered a large pyramid complex near the town of Visoko, Bosnia in 2005. In scientific tests he has conducted, he found that the main Bosnian pyramid, the Temple of the Sun, transmits powerful scalar waves capable of interstellar communications likely using the Sun as a portal.
Dr. Osmanagich has also discovered other pyramid structures near Visoko whose peaks form a Fibonacci series and match the celestial coordinates of the Pleiades constellation. He has concluded that the Bosnian pyramid complex was built by Pleiadian extraterrestrials over 33,000 years ago. He has also led excavations of the nearby Ravne tunnels that extend for miles under the valley of the Bosnian pyramid complex. Dr. Osmanagich has detected powerful frequencies in the tunnel system that have led to miraculous healings for individuals who have spent time inside them.”
His research went farther than my own and I did not try to incorporate his vast knowledge into this article. Although his accent is rather heavy, you can understand what he’s saying and he has some wonderful images he shared.
