Hurricane Dorian is an active tropical cyclone currently threatening the Bahamas and the Southeastern United States. Dorian formed as a tropical depression on August 24th and developed into a Category 1 hurricane by the afternoon of August 28th.

From August 26–28, the storm affected Caribbean nations and territories devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Damaging winds primarily affected the Virgin Islands where gusts reached 111 mph (179 km/h).

Hurricane Dorian strengthened to a Category 2 storm Thursday night. It’s expected to intensify into a Category 3 hurricane Friday and stay at least that strong as it makes its way to the U.S. mainland, the National Hurricane Center said.

At 105 mph, Dorian is the strongest storm of the Atlantic hurricane season so far. If it makes landfall as a Category 4 storm on Monday as forecast, with sustained winds of around 130 mph, it will be the strongest hurricane to strike Florida’s East Coast since Andrew in 1992, according to CNN Meteorologist Brandon Miller.

As of 8 a.m. EDT Friday, Dorian’s center was some 255 miles east-northeast of the southeastern Bahamas and about 505 miles east of the northwestern Bahamas as it headed northwest at 12 mph, the hurricane center said. Dorian’s maximum sustained winds were 110 mph.

Every county in Florida is under a state of emergency as the state prepares for what may be the strongest hurricane to hit its east coast in nearly three decades.

It will also be the fourth year in a row of a hurricane of any strength hitting Florida, the most years in a row since the 1940s.

Dorian is expected to make landfall early Monday evening at the earliest and Tuesday morning at the latest, probably over the central Florida Atlantic coast though possibly farther south.

Dorian is forecasted to bring a “life-threatening storm surge, devastating hurricane-force winds and heavy rains” according to the National Weather Service

The government of the Bahamas issued a hurricane watch for the northwestern part of the chain.

Here are the instructions:

1. Use your own technique to bring you to a relaxed state of consciousness.

2. State your intent to use this meditation as a tool to speed up the process of dissolving Hurricane Dorian.

3. Visualize a pillar of Light emanating from the Galactic Central Sun, then going through all beings of Light inside our Solar System and then through your body to the center of the Earth. Visualize another pillar of Light rising from the center of the Earth, then up through your body and upwards into the sky towards all beings of Light in our Solar System and our galaxy. You are now sitting in two pillars of Light, the Light flowing both upwards and downwards simultaneously. Keep these pillars of Light active for a few minutes.

4. Now visualize a soft pink light dissolving Hurricane Dorian, making it harmless. Visualize this soft pink light protecting all people and their property in the cyclone path. Visualize this situation resolving in the most positive way possible.

You may use this guided audio for this meditation, but replacing the word “Hurricane Irma” to “Hurrican Dorian” in step 2 and 4 when you do the visualizations.
