Are We Sensing Things Before They Happen?
Watching the Signs, Hearing the Voice Inside
Rev. Kat Carroll
This is about an 8 minute read
I’m sure I’m not alone when I question what’s happening on and off the planet. The bizarre increase in solar flares, CMEs, and more recently, the uptick in meteorites and the bolides or fireballs (meteorites that explode as they fall into our atmosphere) lighting up the skies…even in daylight.
This full moon on April Fools day is another such sign. The first full moon of spring also has a special branding: the Paschal full moon or the Paschal Term — 14 or 15 Nisan on the Jewish Calendar, which also marks Passover. Easter is observed on the Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon. So, according to the current ecclesiastical rules, Easter is to be celebrated on April 5. Everything in the sky is aligning and on schedule.
Prepare for Change has been monitoring events on earth, and in the skies since 2012, when some predicted “The end of the world”!! Well, at least the Mayan calendar seemed to state as much. And mainstream media had some fun with the predictions:
Nothing terrible happened. But some of us did feel something had changed… within.
But finding the words to explain the feelings were almost impossible. For myself, I felt it as an energetic shift, something so subtle that you might miss it, or label it as a stray thought, or even a figment of your imagination. I do remember lying in bed and saying “we’re still here”.
There may not have been a catastrophic event.
But something was felt, and the world did begin to shift.
This year has been full of strange activity with signs in the sky and on land. It feels like all of it is leading up to something momentous, but not disastrous. It’s lead to more awareness, more paying attention to signs and synchronicities.
Before going any further, there is something worth considering, something that is not grounded in speculation, but in neuroscience:
Our ability to perceive before we are consciously aware of it.
In the Blink of an Eye
Research has shown that the human brain can process and recognize images in as little as 13 milliseconds—far faster than we are consciously aware of seeing them. A part of this ability is self preservation, the bodies way of protecting itself by reacting faster to stimuli than your conscious brain could respond.
In other words, the brain is already making sense of the world before we realize it.
It is constantly scanning for patterns, meaning, and relevance, quietly working in the background, well ahead of our conscious thoughts.
So perhaps the question is not whether we are perceiving… but how much we are noticing.
Watching for Signs
As the years have moved on, many of us have waited for signs of some kind of change that would uplift humanity. Some clues come direct from the Bible:
• Genesis 1:14: “And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years.’”
• Job 38:31-32: “Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades? Can you loosen Orion’s belt? Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs?”
• Acts 2:19-20: “I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.”

There was a time when people feared God. We have always known to look to the sky for signs and direction. There were some who could interpret dreams and understood the heavenly signs. Those who could were revered.
As this is Easter week, I’m revisiting the stories that shaped religious practices and beliefs. I’ll briefly mention two figures from the Bible; Daniel and David as their stories remind us that we are still experiencing struggles with Iran and Israel. So, it feels timely.
David was from the tribe of Judah, the youngest son of Jesse of Bethlehem (1 Samuel 16:1-13) and recognized by God and the community as a legitimate heir and king. The account of David killing a lion is a significant event in the biblical narrative, illustrating the young shepherd’s courage, faith, and divine protection.
There was a war taking place between the Philistines and the Israelites. You know the story of David and the Giant Goliath. David conquered the giant with a sling and his faith in the Lord. David’s triumphs over the Philistines were instrumental in unifying the tribes of Israel and establishing a strong, centralized monarchy.
Daniel was a young Jewish man of noble lineage who became a great prophet of God. When King Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem, Daniel was taken captive to Babylon, where he was chosen to serve in the royal court. Faithful to God, Daniel rejected adopting the pagan customs of his new land, remaining steadfast in the Lord. The Medes and Persians who were jealous of Daniel’s ability to interpret dreams and remaining steadfast faith in the Lord found a way to kill him, by using the law against anyone praying to God but the King. When he was found praying, they had him thrown into a den of lions.
Daniel’s faith was tested and proven effective as none of the lions attacked. That area where he served is now modern-day Iran.
Both stories included lions.
Both were about faith.
And both were about rulership, which is now at play in Iran and Israel.
Through March, the constellation of Leo has been a prominent spring feature best viewed in the evening sky, rising in the east around 9:00 PM and reaching its highest point near midnight.
The constellation of Leo is deeply intertwined with leadership and authority, symbolized by its brightest star, Regulus, known as the “Heart of the Lion” (Cor Leonis). As one of the four Royal Stars of ancient Persia, Regulus is believed to bestow courage, natural authority, and the ability to overcome adversity, blending the might of Jupiter with the courage of Mars.
Leo is the most significantly impacted sign in the Year of the Fire Horse (2026), experiencing a “destiny activation” year where the zodiac’s fiery energy aligns with Leo’s rulership by the Sun, demanding bold leadership, public visibility, and authentic self-expression.
Perhaps this is the year when strong leadership resolves old blood feuds, and restores the flow of energy, both figuratively and literally, in the heart of the Middle East.
“The Lion of Judah is a significant biblical symbol representing strength, majesty, and the messianic promise. It is deeply rooted in the history and prophecy of Israelite tribes, particularly the tribe of Judah from which King David and ultimately Jesus Christ descended.
The Lion of Judah is a messianic title that finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. In the New Testament, the Book of Revelation refers to Jesus as the Lion of Judah, highlighting his victory and authority to execute God’s plan of salvation and judgment. The title emphasizes Jesus’ kingly authority and his role as the promised Messiah. It connects the Old Testament prophecies with the New Testament fulfillment, underscoring the continuity of God’s covenant promises. Jesus, as the Lion of Judah, embodies the strength and sovereignty of God, bringing redemption and hope to humanity.”
With all the signs and the symptoms people have been talking about, I wonder if we are tuning into something… Something from beyond, and biblical in nature?
Is mankind soon to be judged, or transformed?
Perhaps both.
Why This Matters Now
There’s been a growing number of conversations lately—quiet at first, then more openly shared—about unusual sensations in the body, sometimes accompanied by dreams and visions. Some of the symptoms may include:
A racing heart that comes and goes without warning.
A sudden wave of emotion that doesn’t seem tied to any specific thought.
Moments of anxiety or intensity that feel as if they arise from nowhere… and then pass just as quickly.
Moments like these can feel unsettling—especially when we don’t have a clear explanation.
But what if it’s not anxiety…
What if it’s buffering? Like a system processing more information than it’s used to…
and we are adjusting, recalibrating, integrating.
For some, it’s easy to dismiss these experiences as stress, imagination, or overreaction. For others, especially those who have felt these shifts repeatedly, the question lingers:
What if this is something real—just not something we fully comprehend? Or perhaps we don’t have the language to explain it.
Through teaching remote viewing and distance healing, I have shown that people can tap into something that is beyond themselves. We have more than just our 5 physical senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell.
Some would say we also have what we call a sixth and even a seventh sense.
The sixth sense is often referred to as intuition or gut feeling. That inner knowing, even if you can’t find the words to define what it is you know or feel. That is in part due to having neurons in the gut that communicate with the brain.
The seventh sense refers to the ability to detect objects without physically touching them. Animals use this skill. You’ve seen the birds on beach chasing after something in the sand, or the fox diving into the snow to catch their prey? Science also defines it this as remote touch.
You feel it. You know something has once again shifted, including your awareness, which is expanding.
Where am I going with this?
If our bodies are so finely tuned that we can pick up on subtle information, then it stands to reason that we may also be able to perceive energetic changes—whether from the sun, geomagnetic activity, or even a sense that something is coming, despite not yet having the language to explain it.
In the evolutionary process, we are hearing more accounts of children with unusual telepathic abilities, and of people who know who is calling before they ever pick up the phone. Some have precognitive dreams. As you know, there is far more to this phenomenon than can be covered in this article.
So what if we are in the early stages of becoming something more—what some traditions have long suggested humanity would one day grow into: People with special abilities.
Across the Bible, the Tao, and the Vedic texts, there are echoes of this idea: that humanity would awaken to a greater expression of itself. Whether or not this takes the form of a literal return of Christ, he told his followers that they would be able to do as he did—and more.
If that potential is beginning to emerge within us…
and if, at the same time, we are witnessing unusual signs in the skies above—
how will we meet it?
And how will we choose to use what begins to awaken?
A Closing Thought
Perhaps the question is not whether something is happening, or if something is arriving.
It may be about how we choose to meet it.
There was a time when people looked to the heavens for signs—
for guidance, for meaning, for reassurance that something greater was at work.
Today, we may find ourselves doing the same, in a time of war and uncertainty.
But what if the signs are not only above us…
What if they are within us as well?
A quickened heartbeat.
A sudden knowing.
A moment of stillness in the midst of uncertainty.
Not something to fear… but something nudging us toward activation.
Not something to blindly follow… but something to meet with awareness.
Because if we are sensing more than we understand,
then the responsibility is not to react in confusion…
but to respond with faith, courage, and compassion—
as spiritual warriors, with the heart of a lion.
Whether these moments are biological, emotional, environmental, or something yet unnamed…
We are still the ones at the helm,
steering our way toward a new destination for humanity.
In this season of change and new beginnings—
and under the light of the full moon leading into Easter—
we are invited to become more than we have been…
to step into something greater.
To remember that the light we’ve been watching and waiting for—
that spark, that love that lives within us—
is quietly waiting to blaze even brighter.
And it has always been there.
I’ll leave you with this beautiful song: Be the Light
