Keep Calm and Meditate
Hosted by Rob Stevens
The World is reaching peak insanity and now is the time to remain calm and centered. We all know that it’s human nature to subconsciously pick up on the emotions that surround us. Without stopping to observe we will most likely be whipped up into the herd emotion whether its rational or not.
It often only takes one calm and rational person in a crowd to raise groups spirits and counter that surge of low emotions.
How do we remain calm and centered? The answer seems to me to be quite clear; we should culture a regular habit of inward reflection or meditation to understand ourselves better and by extension everyone around us. Practice the art of observation before letting our ego, fears and anxieties run riot. This is easier said than done.

For the next PFC Ascension Connection call I would like to talk about what practical steps we can take to make meditation and inward reflection easier. There are many small adjustments we might make to the way we practice mindfulness, some of which might seem obvious and others less so.
Our goal should be to break focusing on the incessant mental chatter and noise and tune instead into a calm and peaceful state. It is only from a place of calm that we might hear the quiet voice of our higher faculties and perhaps a divine connection and feelings of peace.
To this end I am going to summarize a number of points to consider which may improve our ability reach this state of calm more easily.
Posture – crossed legs ‘half lotus’, ‘full lotus’, on the knees ‘hero’ position, on a chair or perhaps a bed. We need to be comfortable but not falling asleep.
Positioning of the hands – there are many ‘Mudras’ that are ways in which the hands and fingers are positioned in an attempt to affect the flow of our energies.
Breathing – through the nose, mouth closed or slightly open? Tongue tip on the roof of the mouth?
Mental focus – there appears to be a delicate balance between disciplined focus and observing the flow of thoughts. Eyes can be open or closed and some people find repeating a mantra beneficial.
Hydration – most people do not realize they are not optimally hydrated. What other well being considerations are there?
Diet and ‘supplements’ – do heavy foods have an effect? What foods might promote mental clarity? (figs, herbal teas?)
Decalcifying the Pineal gland – Bhramari humming and also the effects of food and fluoride
Time of day – Sun rise or Sun set?
Sun gazing – ancient practice of looking at the Sun rise to align with the rhythms of nature.
Astrological or space weather conditions – Full moon or New moon? Do solar flares affect our mental clarity and is this an opportunity or a time to avoid?
Grounding in nature – bare feet on the ground promotes healing and aligns the body electrically with the Earth.
Electromagnetic pollution – switching off technology, WiFi and other sources of EM pollution
Personally, I struggle at times to relax and find calm. More often than not the key is to shift my perspective. To observe and feel the tension in my body is a good starting point for me. We are all different but hopefully we can learn from each other. I’d love to hear what works for you in finding that inner peace. If you’re finding inner reflection and meditation difficult, peace and calm elusive, then please join in.
