The Forgotten Language of Light, Frequency and Consciousness
Rev. Kat Carroll
There are moments in history when humanity circles back to ideas once dismissed, forgotten, or quietly set aside.
Something inside us recognizes we are living within an incomplete picture and history of ourselves.
For centuries, human civilization excelled at understanding the external world through measurement, specialization, and mechanistic science. This approach brought extraordinary advances in medicine, engineering, communication, and technology. It taught us how to split the atom, map the genome, and place machines into orbit around distant worlds.
And yet, amid all this progress, many people still feel disconnected from something far older.
Disconnected from nature, each other, from themselves. And what we call God, Source or Cosmic Consciousness.
Perhaps this is why so many are returning to older ideas surrounding meditation, breathwork, sound, vibration, coherence, emotional healing, and consciousness itself. Especially consciousness. We long to be reconnected to something greater than ourselves.
You might see this as an attempt to rediscover balance between the mechanized and spiritual worlds.
Maybe the ancients were not entirely primitive in their understanding of the human experience. Perhaps they were observing aspects of consciousness through symbolic and intuitive systems long before modern scientific language for these ideas existed.
One of those systems is body’s energy centers or chakras. Today, I want to look at those energy centers within the body that correspond to the major colors spectrum that is visible to the naked eye.

The Rainbow Within
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3 –
The rainbow functions as a divine reminder for both God and humanity; while God does not forget, the sign provides reassurance of His enduring commitment to preserve creation.
I find it interesting that that very covenant is within the body.
The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and translates loosely as “wheel” or “spinning disk.” Traditionally, chakras are described as energetic centers within the body associated with physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual states.
While interpretations vary across traditions, the most familiar model describes seven major chakras aligned along the spine.
What fascinated me years ago when I first began studying these systems was not merely the spiritual symbolism, but the recurring relationship between color, vibration, harmony, and frequency.
White light passing through a prism separates into seven visible colors. The same colors that correspond to each of the seven chakras.

Light exists as frequencies.
And intriguingly, the chakra system mirrors the visible spectrum almost perfectly.
From the red root chakra at the base of the spine to the violet crown chakra above the head, the progression follows the same order found in the rainbow itself.
Perhaps coincidence.
Or perhaps an ancient recognition that human consciousness, like light and music, moves through patterns of harmony and frequency, and even cycles.
Waves of light

Science tells us that visible light itself exists across a spectrum of frequencies.
Red light vibrates at a slower frequency and longer wavelength. Violet vibrates at a faster frequency and shorter wavelength.
Some traditions draw symbolic parallels between these frequencies and the energetic qualities associated with the chakra system.
The lower three chakras are often associated with:
- survival
- grounding
- physical identity
- emotion
- movement
- personal will
The uppermost chakras become increasingly associated with:
- communication
- intuition
- insight
- transcendence
- spiritual awareness
And at the center sits the heart. The bridge…
The balance point between the physical and the spiritual.

The Heart as the Bridge
Perhaps this is why so many modern discussions surrounding consciousness focus so strongly on the heart.
The HeartMath Institute and other researchers have explored how emotional states influence measurable physiological patterns within the body. States such as gratitude, compassion, appreciation, and love appear to generate greater coherence within heart rhythms and nervous system function.
We now know the heart generates a measurable electromagnetic field, one that is 5,000 times greater electrically than the brain, and 60 times greater magnetically.
Emotions affect biology. Stress changes physiology. Breathing changes brain states. Meditation changes neural activity.
Even if science does not yet fully understand consciousness itself, it is increasingly difficult to separate mind, emotion, body, and spirit into isolated compartments. They are linked within our body, our very DNA.
The ancients may not have used terms like electromagnetic fields, nervous system regulation, or psychophysiology, but many traditions clearly recognized that emotional and spiritual states affected overall well-being, especially when motivated and focused with positive emotions from the heart.
Recent studies state that our DNA is a 3-dimensional fractal antenna tuned to a broad spectrum of frequencies. And regarding our bridge, the heart, the Journal of Complementary and Alternative medicine state the that the human heart, and its neurons (like the cells of the brain) is coupled to a field of information that is not limited by the laws of physics, including time and space. As light is our nature, we can entangle with, or share information with the Akash, or Cosmic Consciousness.
Hearkening back to a statement made by Jesus, he stated that we would be able to do all the things he did and more. He may have been alluding to our divine connection to the Monad, the God spark, that is opening within us at this special time in history. Or perhaps, we are finally remembering that have always been connected to Source, and to each other.
Some spiritual traditions suggest early humanity may once have experienced consciousness differently than we do today. According to esoteric traditions such as Theosophy and Anthroposophy, early Lemurians and Atlanteans possessed bodies that were significantly more ethereal and pliable than modern human physiology.
Stories surrounding Atlantis and Lemuria often describe human beings as less physicals, more etheric (without a dense body like what we have today). They were more spiritually connected, energetically attuned, and less bound by dense material desires.
These stories continue to resonate because they reflect a longing to return to greater harmony between consciousness, nature, emotion, and spirit. And perhaps, that is what is slowly happening today, a return to the light-er and more loving ways of being, physical, and spiritually.

Biophotons and the Light Within
“We have come from the light…” A great concept spoken by either Thomas or Phillip in scriptur – https://www.gospels.net/thomas?utm_source=chatgpt.com
The Bible presents God as pure, unchanging light (1 John 1:5; James 1:17) and calls humanity to carry that light into the world (Matthew 5:14–16; 1 John 1:7; Ephesians 5:8).
When Jesus was asked where he came from, he stated “from the light”, and that we are the children of the light.
That was over 2,000 years ago!
Science has finally discovered that the human body does emit amounts of measurable light. https://sacred-texts.com/atl/tll/tll08.htm We would not have learned this was fact—rather than mysticism, if it were not for scientific equipment in use today that allows us to see and measure this light.
Science has discovered even more incredible information about our DNA:
Recent discussions in cutting-edge physics suggest a provocative idea: DNA—the molecule long viewed solely as a biochemical information carrier—may double as a living fractal antenna. According to this hypothesis, the helical structure of DNA could resonate with electromagnetic fields across a wide spectrum, enabling cells to transmit and receive information not just through chemical signals, but through vibrational and field-based communication.
Link to the article: DNA as a Fractal Antenna: Could Our Cells Be Listening to the Electromagnetic Symphony of Life?
Think about the implications of that statement – We may be influenced by frequencies of light and sound from a vast number of sources, perhaps even from space. And perhaps we are on the threshold of a DNA upgrade as some speculate.
Today, we can look back at the ancient text left for a time when humanity was ready to understand them. Walking in the light means living transparently, reflecting God’s holiness, and shining His truth to others.
Is there more to the story?
Biophotons are not generally visible to the naked eye. Yet, throughout history, mystics, healers, mediums, and intuitive people across many cultures have described perceiving subtle light fields or energetic impressions surrounding living beings — what some traditions call the aura.
Some believe these abilities represent heightened energetic sensitivity, while others suggest such perception may be a dormant human capacity that can become more noticeable through meditation and focused awareness.
The persistence of these experiences across cultures continues to raise intriguing questions about human perception and consciousness itself.
Could light play a deeper role in biological communication? Internally, it does. Photons share information between cells as information packets. What’s interesting about this concept is that the brain mirrors in form and function, the universe itself. The movement of asteroids and comets in the heaven mirror what the brain looks like – This is a Hermetic Principal, “As above so below”. Humanity appears to mirror the heavens.
Consciousness, emotion, and physiology were once more interconnected than we currently understand. What the visible light spectrum, was once easier to perceive in our earlier forms?
Perhaps they were speaking symbolically-perhaps intuitively or even metaphorically. Or maybe they observed something experiential that modern science is only beginning to revisit through different language.
In the Lost Gospel of Mary, opens in the middle of a scene portraying a discussion between the Savior and his disciples set after the resurrection. The Savior is answering their questions about the end of the material world and the nature of sin. He teaches them that at present—all things, whether material or spiritual, are interwoven with each other. In the end, that will not be so.
What becomes increasingly clear is that human beings are more than mechanical. And perhaps we are returning to our very early, and highly spiritual nature of being.
We are rhythmic, electrical, emotional, biological, and relational. And more interconnected than we realize. Connected to a higher Source.
Mary Magdalene had something to say about our true nature. She stated it was “movement and rest”. Those of you who play or write music will recognize that statement. I interpret this as another example of frequency… the frequency of sound.
Sound and Cymatics
On a piano keyboard, movement occurs through whole steps and half steps — transitions that create tension, release, progression, and finally – harmony. Music often moves the listener emotionally which is why it is so effective in movies.
Some spiritual traditions similarly suggest that consciousness itself evolves through waves or thresholds of awareness, like the rise and fall of tides, and our emotional states during spiritual growth.
Drunvalo Melchizedek described two important transitional “half-steps” within the chakra system. One involves the movement from the third chakra into the heart center — a shift from personal identity, ego, and survival into compassion, coherence, and love. Another symbolic threshold occurs between the sixth and seventh chakras, where awareness moves beyond intellect and perception toward unity consciousness and spiritual transcendence.
And if you think of everything as having their own frequency, energy, and vibration, it may be easier to comprehend why we should spend more time in meditation, experiencing those higher vibrations and frequencies, until they become natural.
Sound can shape matter as we’ve seen with cymatics. Emotion and feelings shape consciousness, depending on your focus. Our thoughts, words, feelings, and intentions shape our reality. Everything is connected.
Christ had said you don’t need to die to ascend. You bring heaven to earth, through your heart. That bridge between the physical and the spiritual realms.
The question becomes, what frequency are you tuning into, and what are you broadcasting to the world?
I hope you’ll meditate on that.
