Disclosure, Consciousness and the Future of Human Freedom

Reflections on Transparency, Human Maturity
and the 250th Anniversary of the American Experiment

Rev. Kat Carroll
An 8-to-10-minute read

I know I’ve said this before, but humanity appears to be standing at a threshold… Multiple thresholds.

This is a moment where old systems, old fears, and old narratives begin colliding and generating new possibilities. This year is one of those profound moments, at the 250th anniversary of our Nation.

The United States was once described by George Washington as: “The last great experiment for promoting human happiness.”

The American experiment was radical for its time.

A nation founded not upon monarchy, bloodline, or inherited authority, but upon the revolutionary idea that ordinary people possessed the capacity for self-governance.

The Founders believed that liberty required informed citizens. Not subjects. Not children. Not populations permanently shielded from difficult truths… Participants.

And yet throughout modern history, one question has repeatedly emerged: Who decides when, and what the public is ready to know?

That question now surrounds many modern issues:

  • classified technologies
  • intelligence operations
  • censorship
  • medical transparency
  • surveillance
  • and perhaps most controversially, the UFO and UAP phenomenon.

For decades, governments and military institutions often framed the UFO topic as something potentially dangerous to public stability, and possibly to religious institutions and those who follow them.

Former NATO intelligence officer and disclosure researcher Bob Dean spoke openly about this concern, stating that military and intelligence communities feared the social and religious consequences of full disclosure. But we don’t know what portion of the community, if any, was ever questioned about this to gain their opinion. So, are the findings valid?

Would knowledge of non-human intelligence interacting and possibly working on Earth (perhaps some with the military) truly destroy humanity’s spiritual foundations?

Or would it expand them?

Interestingly, many spiritual traditions have long described humanity as part of a far larger and more mysterious cosmos populated by multiple realms, beings, and dimensions of existence. The number of habitable planets in the Milky Way varies significantly based on the specific definition of “habitable” and the data sources used, ranging from 300 million to 60 billion! https://refractor.io/space/300-million-potentially-habitable-planets-milky-way-galaxy/

It’s not likely that we are alone. Carl Sagan said, “The universe is a pretty big place. If it’s just us, seems like an awful waste of space.”

And the real issue may never have been extraterrestrials themselves.

Perhaps the greater concern was the destabilization of centralized authority structures built upon controlling information. It’s likely that the concern was fear, based on knowing something is out there we may not know how to control, or that could possibly start a war if misidentified.

During the Cold War, secrecy became a way of life.

Roswell UFO, Majestic 12 – National Security Act of 1947

Nuclear fears dominated global politics. Unknown craft entering airspace could potentially trigger catastrophic misunderstandings between superpowers.

President John F. Kennedy reportedly worked toward greater communication with the Soviet Union regarding unidentified aerial phenomena to prevent accidental escalation.

If true, the greatest danger may not have been extraterrestrials at all.

The danger may have been humanity’s fear-driven response to the unknown which was then labeled as a threat. And that possible threat was labeled “Above Top Secret”. This kept it out of the public purview.

That fear shaped military policy, propaganda systems, secrecy structures, and narrative control for generations. And yet curiosity has never disappeared. For many people, the possibility of intelligent life beyond Earth does not inspire terror.

It inspires wonder.

Science fiction once reflected this optimism beautifully with my favorite show as a child.

Star Trek envisioned a future where humanity matured beyond many of its divisions and ventured outward with curiosity rather than conquest. The premise of the show was:

“To explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before!”

If you’re like me, the opening soundtrack is already playing in your head. Sorry!

But that vision inspired generations of young men and women.

Until recently public narratives surrounding UFOs often emphasize threat, fear, and militarization. Anyone talking about experiences was labeled or debunked. But this is all changing in 2026.  UFO Flies are being released with the 2nd batch now available on https://www.war.gov/ufo/.

Even Neil deGrasse Tyson, American astrophysicist, author, and science communicator, has changed his attitude and no longer tries to debunk the stories. He just published a book to “cash in” on the rollout of information: “Aliens brought us together:” Is Neil de Grasse Tyson a UFO believer now?

The topic of UFO’s and ET, long avoided by mainstream media, is now being more openly discussed. This is a major paradigm shift.

Why?

For at least 80 years, fear has been the effective mechanism for consolidating authority.
Fear justified secrecy and surveillance. Fear justified centralized control. But the world cannot live in a constant state of fear if it expects to survive and thrive.

Wonder and open minds cannot be easily controlled. Open hearts and minds always look for a peaceful solution first. And many, like me, dream of what the future would be like working in cooperation with people from other worlds. And the ability to visit other worlds.

Though some disclosure claims may be false, it does not mean every claim is false. And now we are learning that many were indeed true.

Speculation surrounding reverse-engineered craft, hidden technologies, secret treaties, breakaway civilizations, or advanced propulsion systems range from partially documented history to highly controversial theory. They have been discussed in public hearings and at Press Clubs organized by people such as Dr. Steven Greer, with insider and whistle blower testimony.  And just because you haven’t read a white paper or can’t tell the difference between real and AI generated photos does not mean the stories are false. They’ve just been kept quietly hidden, until now.

And over time, some ideas once, dismissed outright, have resurfaced for renewed public examination.

Some researchers point toward Operation Paperclip, postwar aerospace developments, and unusual technological leaps following World War II as evidence that hidden scientific programs may have evolved far beyond public awareness and possibly as early as the 60s. Inspired by findings at the crash of Roswell which is  well documented by Colonel Philip J. Corso (1915–1998) in his book, The Day After Roswell, (which incidentally, is sitting on my headboard.)  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_After_Roswell

Others go further, proposing the existence of reverse-engineered non-human technology or covert alliances between nations and hidden groups. As more stories are brought to our attention, I have more faith that the stories are true, and that we have been visited for an extremely long time.

At least 4 known Alien Species have been visiting our planet for thousands of years

Whether all such claims are true remains speculative, despite the growing number of channeled messages and reports in social media, and now in Legacy Media. But we don’t have a way to validate some of the stories. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. But I’m like Fox Mulder from X-Files… I want to believe. And the truth is out there.

History has repeatedly demonstrated that governments do sometimes conceal information from the public for reasons involving military advantage, political stability, economics, or institutional preservation (including classified technologies and protected patents).

It is important to recognize that Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests generally apply only to government-held records, not privately owned corporate patents, proprietary technologies, or research protected through private industry. Even in an era of growing calls for transparency, significant portions of advanced technological development may remain inaccessible to public scrutiny through corporate protection, national security classifications, or intellectual property law. But progress is slowly being made.

At the same time, growing public conversations surrounding transparency, innovation, financial reform, medical advancement, and technological disclosure suggest that many people are yearning for a new era of accountability and shared progress. As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, some see this period not merely as political change, but as part of a broader cultural and spiritual reawakening — a return to sovereignty, stewardship, creativity, and the idea that knowledge and innovation should ultimately serve the well-being of all humanity.

Programs once dismissed as conspiracy theory have later proven to be real. That reality alone has changed how many people approach official narratives today.

But perhaps the deeper issue is not UFOs themselves. It may be about consciousness.

Can humanity mature beyond fear-based systems? Can we move beyond endless cycles of secrecy, division, manipulation, and psychological warfare? Can civilization evolve toward greater transparency, cooperation, compassion, and shared stewardship of the world?

Those questions may ultimately matter far more than the origin of any unidentified craft in the sky.

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, many people sense that humanity itself may be approaching a major turning point.

Rededication of the Nation

On May 17, 2026, the Rededicate 250 event was held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was a daylong gathering of prayer, worship, and rededication of the United States as “One Nation under God” in anticipation of the nation’s 250th anniversary, and reflection on the country’s founding principles.

It was not just a political event: but one that affected the nation spiritually, psychologically and as a civilization undergoing it’s own revival.

It represented a reassessment of who we are, what we value, and what kind of future we wish to create for ourselves and our children.

Perhaps the true “American experiment” was never solely about religion, economics, military power, or political systems. The Declaration of Independence, penned by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 asserts that all individuals are endowed with certain unalienable rights, which include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Perhaps it was an experiment in human spirituality and consciousness itself.

An experiment asking whether free people can govern themselves wisely when entrusted with truth, responsibility, and liberty.

Because happiness, in its highest sense, may never have been rooted in fear or control. It may emerge from higher emotional states:

These are the very qualities many spiritual traditions describe as essential for human evolution.

Perhaps disclosure, whatever form it ultimately takes, is not simply about advanced craft or hidden technology. Maybe it is part of a much larger invitation.

An invitation for humanity to move beyond fear… Beyond separation and beyond the belief that ordinary people are incapable of handling difficult truths.

And it’s time to move toward a civilization mature enough to face the unknown with wisdom, discernment, curiosity, and hope. Perhaps this time is our preparation for becoming space faring explorers…. Seeking new life, and new civilizations.

That may be the real experiment still unfolding before us.

And perhaps, for the first time in a very long time, humanity may finally be ready to participate consciously in a new world… One we create together, and under the guidance of a higher power.

One Nation under God. Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I've been interested in all things related to metaphysics, parapsychology, spirituality and anything related to space since childhood. I'm the kid who used to let the Jehova Witness and Mormans into the house so I could ask a million questions. I've always wanted to be of service and ended up working as an EMT and later in law enforcement. A family job transfer lead me to Washington State for 5 years where I went back to studying spiritual phenomenon and meeting some fascinating people. I've had several initiations, was taught energy healing and became certified in Reiki III over the final 3 years. I had a larger awakening and understanding of how it Reiki worked, remote sensing and more after returning to CA in 2001. I love researching and now writing and being a spokesperson for benevolent contact with NHIB through the practice of meditation. I experienced a spontaneous healing and not long after the "quickening" of 12/21/2012, began having more paranormal experiences, including seeing the UFOs, and orbs that fly over at night. I'm also a volunteer /Admin for ETLetsTalk and love teaching others how to make that connection that I know will one day lead us out of the darkness and into a brighter future.
